http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/page/TicketNews/0,,10413~1734898,00.html Taking advantage of our away support IMO. F*cking ridiculous.
I think there is a geographical component in the calculation as well. I reckon its average away following divided by distance away from Turf Moor
Yeah, nothing to get excited about there. You lot will probably sell out all your away games this year, and I would be suprised if any visiting team fails to sell out at the Turf.
What an idiot you are. Sunderland have a great support, even go as far as saying one of the best in the league. Why would you be suprised if any team doesn't sell out at Turf Moor, not really the most exciting team to watch in the league. I'm sure teams like Fulham, Bolton even us don't see Burnley as a great away trip. Just like you at Bolton, Everton, Wigan ey Pete?
We've sold 4,000+ tickets to Wigan every season you have been up in this league, I know, I've been there everytime. And what would you know about our followings to Bolton, Everton et al.. closest Rovers fan much? Sunderland do not have the best support in the league, sorry. Plenty of other much more well supported teams. Burnley are only giving teams 2,000 away tickets. I would guess 80% of fans have never been to the ground. Therefore, I can't see many teams not selling out. Then again, Wigan will probably take their usual 200. Hence why I don't go around shouting about how good our support is.
1. You have only sold £4k+ was the season before last (around christmas), last season you braught about £2k. 2. I do watch games on TV replay not to mention posts about it... 3. I didn't say the best, I said one of the best. Please read.
Absolutely taking advantage of a team with a good away following. I know the feeling, clubs have done it to us for years.
Like Pete said now we've split the away end in half away fans will only be getting 2000 tickets, so would be very surprised if every game next season isn't a sell out in the home and away ends, the only teams who possibly wouldn’t sell 2000 tickets is Fulham and Pompey but I’m expert at this is our first season in the Premier League, time will tell I suppose.
I am a prime example of why Rovers have such poor support. I used to be a Rovers fan. Changed allegience when I realised there was a bigger club down the motorway....and Rovers were in a higher division at the time!
I know but you have to look at it like this. If you was a top 4 club support and had to choose some of your matches, Burnley wouldn't be high on that list. If I was a top 4 supporter then I certainly would go to 10 other good grounds if given the choice than Burnley (no offense).
Well either way it’s certainly going to be better than seeing 100 Plymouth fans in a 4000 stand on a cold Tuesday night.
I supposse it depends on the stadium to though. Yes Turf Moor is old, and can be seen as a bit old and boring. However the fact is is old and has a lot of history makes it appealing to a lot of people. It certainly in a way is a throwback to the old days. Also traditionally Burnley has a reputation for being very proud and a bit hostile, which also appeals to people to sample the atmosphere. From reviews on the net (from Away supporters point of view) most of them said they really enjoyed there day/night out.
