Been ages since anyones made a thread of an individual signing-lol. thought i'm actually pretty chuffed with this one so i figured it was thread-worthy. this guys a baller! i feel he's criminally undercapped for someone his age and his ability. i dunno whether it's his "attitude" or something else that soughgate didnt like about him but he really is a talented player. his stats are actually damn good considering he's been playing in a struggling leicester side and i do feel this is the first time since eriksen departed we have a "creative mastermind" in our midfield. we've really lacked that since he departed. getting rid of winks as well ls a plus- sadly don't think he ever lived up to his early potential. old 2013 tweets asides really happy about this signing
Yeah, very happy with the signing. Some much needed creativity in to our squad too. Hopefully this'll be a more enjoyable than some of the recent ones. Think it's quite a decent price for a proven Premier League player too.
Yeah think Maddison is a better player than Mount and we got him for £20m less. And he might take over from Kane on set pieces! One can hope.
Thoughts on Maddison this year? Injuries cost him time but I think that's going to be an issue with him all the time. Earlier in the season he controlled and took over games. Lately I'm not seeing that. Maybe it's not all on him, he's dropping deeper and deeper to get the ball but I'm not seeing the same back line breaking passes he played so much earlier in the year..
I think we're a little bit too reliant on him which isn't a huge problem when he's on his game but if he's not quite at it we typically suffer for it in our performances and/or results. His signing has improved us but he's also been a little underwhelming at times. Fingers crossed he has a really strong end to the season.
