Looks like he’s going to Real Madrid for about three trillion euros. I wonder if Dortmund will retire the No.22 shirt?

Think it is a bad decision for him to go there, but he has the talent to succeed, hopefully he has the head to as well.

It's a mad decision when you factor in Tchouameni and Camavinga, especially with the latter being far more established in Madrids first eleven than Tchouameni whose obviously still yet to integrate himself into that team fully. I'd expect Madrid to base their middle around those two next season with Valverde and Bellingham may have to cool his jets on the sidelines for a while. Other than that ,he's been touted as a replacement for Modric ,but that's a massive ask that carries a lot of weight and if you fail to hit the ground running at the Bernabeu it's a lot less forgiving than most yards or indeed fan bases.

Camavinga will continue at LB I'd imagine and Bellingham and Valverde at midfield. Camavinga drifts inside to overload the midfield.

He is a midfielder though and was originally brought in as a central midfielder, he may finally see an opportunity and assume he deserves to warrant a place in that midfield ,rather than be utilized as a makeshift defender ?

I was really hoping to see him in the Premier League tbh, so I’m a bit disappointed he’s going to Madrid.

It’s a fantastic move for him though. Is there any mention of the fee? Will Birmingham get a kick back as well?

Didn't Valverde play right midfield at times? Versatility will probably be a big factor.

He did yeah ,I just think Bellingham although a good player is going to have to sit in that midfield and look the part straight away if he's to bolt down a slot for the foreseeable. I'm just struggling to think of an English player that's been lauded by the fickle fan base that is Madrid from the get go ? Other than the Iscariot fella with the unkempt mop who left Liverpool for pastures anew and was still primarily a bit part player. It takes a concerted effort for a British player to become a mainstay in that team. Bellingham has been in teams were he's stood out and he's rarely been at the wrong end of the critique ,but the Media in Spain are different animals and take no prisoners ,I'm just wondering 'if and when' his performances are under the scrutiny of the microscope how he will react to negative press ?

    That's a stretch.

The way I see it, Bellingham's suitors in England are Liverpool & United, both sides who aren't doing very well these days. Even if United are going to clinch CL, the football has been dire for years while Liverpool won't make it and the summer looks to be huge one for Klopp in terms of bringing people in and waving goodbye to the soldiers (namely Henderson & Milner). 23/24 is massive season for Jürgen in terms of rebuilding the squad.
Whereas Madrid is secure. You'll finish top most years, worst-case scenario second and you're playing for the biggest club in the world. Think it's a very pragmatic decision if he actually signs. Haven't seen anyone else but Marca reporting it so pinch of salt and all that.

Blues will receive 5% of any fee that Dortmund get for him, which even my brain can calculate if he goes for the rumoured €100m

Talk of fee above 115m euros, seen £115m quoted.

I’m guessing you’re not a fan, Red? He’s 19, I reckon he’ll be better than Modric ever was by the time he’s (an unretired) 22..

He's an intelligent player for his age and shows great maturity ,but we're talking Modric here fella, who is arguably one of the finest midfielders I've ever seen live albeit from Scholes and Aimar.

When you do, Birmingham should buy Paul Mullin from Wrexham ,the fella will bag for fun in the Championship. The Scouse rumour mill has it if Wrexham don't up his bunts he's looking for a move to the Championship ? ;)

I love Mullin, those two goals he bagged against Boreham typified how good he is; cuts inside and scores a cracker with his right then runs at a defender who thinks he favours his right only to turn and hit a belter with his left. He’s better than Modric you know..

It really is a struggle to be loved there, but McMananan was a fan favourite. Although he went from being a star flying winger to a workhorse CM so he did have to compromise his game like Camavinga and Valverde have done.
Nope, Modric has been there since 2012 and has only 3 La Liga titles. They sit 3rd atm which isn't unusual. Madrid are undisputed kings of the Champions League though so he'll fancy his chances of winning that.

Good point. I think Bellingham is good enough not to fail on the pitch for Real Madrid, but getting involved ahead of Camavinga, Tchouameni, Kroos and Modric is no guarantee. Either one of them can outplay anybody while in their element.

Sunderland are allegedly sniffing round his younger brother but if Dortmund win Bundesliga I can see him going to Madrid for a few seasons still leaving plenty of time for a homecoming back to the UK .

Blues got any sell on fees do you know ?
