Yes, it has just taken me 5 hours to get home..... I mean the train service is embarressing, Birmingham New Street to Coventry, about 30 mins on LM or 15 on Virgin trains, and cos of these problems at Brum International, I had to go to Stafford, then Milton Keynes! Then had to wait for an hour at Northampton cos we had no train driver......... Anyone else experiences problems?
To be honest, no I didn't wonder where you were. Perhaps you should check problems with your journey before you travel. Or there would have been replacement bus services. Or belt up, we've all had delays etc.. in the past. Thank's for sharing but it doesn't really need it's own thread does it?
No C@rl, I wasn't wondering. But unlucky mate. Government saying we should use more public transport, yet the public transport is like this.
WTF Coventry is like in between Milton Keynes and Stafford lol I can't complain, £2.50 to London and back  Actually thinking about it, just about everytime I've used the train to Birmingham New Street it hasn't been straight forward. One that stands out is when I went from Bournemouth to Derby...took longer than normal because of "trespassers" between Banbury and Leamington then they kicked us off at Brum only to be told 20 minutes later that the train we got off was actually continuing to Leeds. :
public transport is crap. though new street is getting a huge makeover in the next year or too that will help with problems in the future
To get this thread back on track(ha ha d'ya get it) yesterday I was waiting for the Leeds-Manchester train in a village called Hebden Bridge and the PA system announced it would be 20 minutes late due to a points failure. That 20 minutes turned out to be an hour, but the trains were running, on time, in the opposite direction. Sometime later on the Metrolink tram from Manchester Victoria to Manchester Piccadilly the tram driver announced due to a traffic light failure the trams were going no further than Piccadily Gardens. Bad day.
...what I want to know is how come those bloody Metro Trams always come when you just light a fag?! Every time I stood at the platform waiting, literally just after one tram had left on several occasions...I'd light up and lo and behold a bloody tram would come along.
In reference to the original posters comments. I do believe that there have been approved engineering works to be carried out. So may explain the delay, although seems a long time to get such a short distance.
