David Silva: Manchester City midfielder to leave club at end of 2019-20 season I always knew he was going to leave eventually, but still don't want to see him go. Same as Kompany last month When Sergio calls it a day I am going to have to check myself in somewhere.
What a superb player he has been for City. He’s always seemed professional too, no play acting etc just played and even when he was back and forth to the hospital for his son he remained the model pro. Seems like a good guy.
The greatest player we’ve ever had, simple as that. Will be harder to see him go than Kompany, simply because with all Vinnie’s injury’s, it was easier to get used to him not being in the team. Vinnie’s absence might be felt more keenly off the pitch, but David’s been key to everything we’ve achieved on the pitch over the past 9 years. I may even cry.
I know I disagreed in the past but upon reflection (and the realisation he's been here for almost 10 years) he surely is a PL great.
A truly world class player who will be a huge miss in the Premier League. He will go down as a legend of the game once he retires. Perhaps the greatest play maker I’ve ever seen.
Due to longevity yes, Yaya, Kompany and Aguero push him for this era, if still alive my Dad would still say Colin Bell and he was a red.
My old man being a red was Denis Law but he used to watch City in 60s so raved about Bel Lee and Summerbee
There are some players you can't hate, no matter if they are playing for your rivals, Silva is one of them.
Cracking player, very easy on the eye, makes everything look easy. Not sure about Premier League great but who needs labels anyhow City fans love him and will obviously miss him.
Yeah, you may be right chief, always felt he was underrated until few years back then feel his status was raised higher than it was. Not sure he would make a top 10 or any PL all time teams but that doesn't diminish his talent by any means.
City had some team back then with Channon ,Kidd ,Barnes. I remember thinking that we would walk this as City were missing Hartford and Bell but they took us apart and crying wasn't allowed in the Boys Pen. I hated Mick Channon and his twirly arm celebration after this . So yeah,I'd say Bell and Hartford along with the unnatural skill of Marsh undoubtedly merit being called City greats ,whilst not forgetting Kinkladze who was an absolute genius with the ball at his feet.
