Brian Laws chooses Stuart Gray as first team coach

This guys complete ineptness caused us to drop from 13th in L1 to 20th in L2 in the space of a year. He lies about his team, can't control his players and has a big mole on his nose.

Have fun with him Burnley fans

The rest I could put up with but that last bit is completely unacceptable.

If hes that inept as a manger he doesn't really hold alot of hope as a coach. See you in L1 in 2 years time

Cant be that bad a coach though can he. Look how long he stopped at Arsenal for, if he was a total joke i doubt they'd have kept him for so long

Stuart Gray's a good coach, he just wasn't cut out for management.

Look at Brian Kidd and Sammy Lee. Two of the best 'coaches' in the country but were useless as a manager.

He was a terrible manager for us too, but a very good coach, one of those that should never have made the step up.

Well, both involve telling people how to play football and attempting to improve their skills. Both involve commanding respect from players, Gray got none, current manager Sampson has plenty.

Northampton are a league 1 club spending a season (maybe 2) below their level. Burnley are a championship club spending a season (definately not 2) above their level. This season however will cost them in the long run as it will see them follow Nottm forest, Leeds, charlton, leicester and Norwich into league 1.

If Burnley are such a special club why did Coyle leave you the first chance he got? :pointlaugh

WRONG, he could have jumped ship to Celtic and stopped on :)

3/10 for effort though matey. Burnley might well be above their level but they wont be going to league1 anytime soon.

The major difference is Laws is going to be telling Gray what to do, if Gray was our manager I’d agree with you but he’s a coach (where he’s had plenty of success in his job already at a lot bigger teams than Northampton) so I’m not worried one bit and you won’t find any Burnley fans who are, just you trying to stir the pot.

We won’t end up like said clubs because we haven’t been spending stupid like those clubs. We keep to a wage budget of 15k a week and have spent peanuts compared to what those clubs did. Our chairman isn’t an idiot and he’s made sure that we’re a debt free club and if we go down we will have plenty of resources to mount a promotion challenge again and not crumble into the lower leagues again.

Anyway you should be concentrating on the upcoming visit of the mighty Accrington Stanley, because lets be honest they are going to stuff you.

On the bright side for Burnley you have took Billy Mercer from us. Whilst he's been at the club Grant has been fantastic and O'Donnel looks quite promising as well. So you definately have a good goal keeper coach.

You should be doing your homework better as we don't have an upcoming visit from Accrington Stanley. We play Macclesfield tonight and Chesterfield on saturday. We also stuffed Stanley 3-0 at their ground so what on earth makes you say they would stuff us at ours is beyond me.

This man should keep Burnley up, there are at least four sides worse than you in this league.

Northampton were a messed up club, The Board were interfering with Gray's management a lot. He couldn't win.

Took them to their highest position in ten years too.
