I can't bare it It probably started 15 years ago, with the influx of foreigners and cultures to the UK in general, who had a habit of shaking friends hands whether they saw them the day befor or 10 years before, where as Brits never shook hands so informally to greet, but it's slowly crept in everywhere, you get to the pub now and your shaking some chuffs hand who you saw yesterday before you've got to the bar, Anyhow that in my opinion is the origin, point being, It's crept into football and everyday life now to a pathetic level, players are pretty much compelled to shake everyone's hand befor during and after every game, probably Fifa's fair play meddling also, Now .. we have the obligatory Hugging ! from managers and players, whether they are sub'd or lose a big game, for gods sake get a grip, It's as if you now could be causing offence if some one doesn't get a little huggy wuggy .. aahh What with taking pride in showing your hurt when you get a slight tap, as opposed to showing it will take more than a kick to hurt me son, it's completely ruining the game, We are among other things completely demeaning man's natural resilience, i can understand a bit of sympathy for going out of a semi final, or a guy missing a World cup penalty, but lets not turn console-ing and hugging in to a national art form and a generation into complete snowflakes, which they already are compared to 25 yrs ago
