Oh yes, the shares wrangle. I think I remember this now and said at the time it was a reason Phil Brown at Southend had a very messy end. He had shares in the club, then obviously things became untenable. But they had become untenable about 3-4 months before he was finally put on 'gardening leave.' But his whole entanglement with his role off the field and his shareholding no doubt postponed his needed departure. Then he takes over Swindon and had to hand his shares back because it was confirmed it would be a conflict of interest should Southend and Swindon play a game with Brown as manager. It's dodgy all round and I hope for Grimsby that Holloway doesn't have shares or paid any money into the club.
I thought he'd taken a club to court before for trying to rip up his contract, i was right. Bilel Mohsni wins £600k court case to ease dole hell
GTFC just put out a statement(brilliant pic of the chairman btw) denying most of the rumours going round about the club.
The fat one from Soccer AM had a bit of a social media breakdown after the game on Saturday. They should have just @‘d him to be honest.
Expect Humberside will be on about it in a few minutes, along with the booing at the Colchester game. Supposedly home fans Only but there are a few town fans in that area so.
What will happen with Holloway? Even BBC Essex were talking about how he's put money into Grimsby, is like a member of the board and the manager combined, so can he be sacked if the results continue to falter or will he be moved into a different role in the club, will he want his money back?
As far as I’m aware he hasn’t even given Grimsby £1 yet. So I assume he still doesn’t actually own any shares.... which might work in their favour.
Of course, there are some cracking away days in the National League. And if we go there we’ll be taking you with us.
Fined £4,800 for breaking Covid Regulations and on top of that, pay Hull/Bradford/Cheltenham compensation for postponed games. No social distancing on the training ground and Holloway had them playing darts as part of team building. The meltdown on the Fishy is glorious.
Our CEO had a cry and a moan at the time to which Holloway came out and told us to mind our own business and told us to shut up.... what a tit.
Had a look at their forum in run up to tommorow. Fantasy -It's a 1pm Kick Off because we want to save on Floodlights. Reality - Hope the National League is suspended, No Relegation. I still expect them to win tommorow against our patched up, non scoring team.
The game will be exactly like the one before Christmas, no quality whatsoever, hoofball between the 2 defences and it’ll be 0-0 or 0-1.
