Pick two. Changed the poll so others can view without voting. Speaks volumes about our current team that there are some decent players in this list but I can't look past Mo and Sadio
this is the easiest of all as I'm going to put salah and mane in. it's a bit harsh on mcmanaman but the rest? John barnes was my hero but by the time the prem started hed done his Achilles twice and was playing cm.
This one was a bit more difficult than the centre mid category. Nobody really stands out, but Benayoun did once score a great chip against Fulham (for West Ham), so he gets my vote. Berger had great hair.
Mane and Salah for me, had we been talking about prior to the PL then Barnes would’ve got in. Special mention to Kuyt too .. always had a soft spot for him.
Decent player was Berger, had a sweet left foot. Preferred him to Smicer (the other part of the Czech duo) who became a bit of a cult figure because of his goal in Istanbul. Over his career he would be my first choice, without a shadow of doubt. Premier League era he was past it.
He used to frustrate me a lot when some of his stuff didn't come off (I suppose like Salah does for me today!), but there was no player I cheered for louder when he scored. There was a lot to like about him.
he was probably "ahead of his time" If he'd joined the prem even mid 00s his style would have suited better IMO. very very talented player, the pace and hackery of the prem then didn't suit.
he was under rated for replacing Garcia while was funnily enough not appreciated enough until he left as well. Garcia just lost the ball trying stuff and annoyed rafa. benayoun was always subbed off by rafa on 63mins much to his annoyance yossi did a lot better than rieria but he wasnt really a wide player really. good times overall.
Remember looking at Yossi at West Ham thinking there was a hell of a talented player there. Maybe my memory is fading a bit with him, but I don't remember him playing all that much with us. Always liked him though.
he played quite a bit but wasnt quite first choice or was always subbed. he still got in 30 games a year over the 3 years we had him. I always got the impression he hated to be subbed and rafa never cared. imo rafa flogged Tories and Gerrard and subbed off benayoun quite a bit in a premeditated way. in many ways looking at klopp he really has been lucky with salah and mane and firmino over the last 2 seasons cos he has over played them imo
Yes, but there's an argument Ronaldo would've won more by staying at United. He won more leagues at United in 6 years than he did at Madrid in 9. And consult the United thread vote! Ronaldo doesn't even make the cut
