Are we going to expect some changes?

GK and defence will stay the same.

Midfield - Henderson and probably be Keita to replace Elliott and Thiago. I can't see Thiago starting and will probably be preserved for Palace on Saturday.

Front line will probably stay the same too, unless Klopp decides to surprise us and drop Jota for Ox.

Read yesterday that we've got 7 games in 22 days(Thanks international football). Pretty hectic so I expect a few changes. Maybe Tsimikas back in and Konate to make his debut. Naby in for Harvey and Hendo for Thiago.

I reckon Klopp goes with the same backline, Henderson in for Elliott.

I'd be surprised to see Klopp give a debut in an opening CL game.

True but I'd be surprised if Matip could handle this schedule. Need to wrap that man in cotton wool.

That's a fair point, Gomez the likely change.

I'd like Tsimikas to get the nod but I just cannot see Klopp doing it. Probably more likely to give Robertson the rest against Palace.

I know that Klopp likes to make sure that his new players have time to adjust, not by throwing them into the deep end. A bit like last January when we got 2 defenders in, it took a few games before they were integrated into the team, even at the time we were absolutely desperate for them to play, he still insisted by putting midfielders into defence.

So I can't see Konate getting his debut, I think the only time we will see his debut, is most likely during the League cup.

I'd have liked to have seen Tsimikas getting the nod, but I just see the defence staying the same, or likely to see Matip out and Gomez in. I'd like to keep Matip for next weekend against Palace so that we can combat Benteke being the pain in our arse.

It's abit of a blast from the past fixture this. I don't think current AC Milan have anything in them to make this a competitive classic like the one in Istanbul though, particularly at Anfield anyway.
    My prediction:

    Liverpool 4 AC Milan 0

Personally I'd go full strength for this and the weekend and rotate during the games if we get comfortable leads then make 11 changes against Norwich next week. I'm really looking forward to this. Is it the first time we played them since 2007? I can't think. My mind has gone completely blank. Anyway. Hopefully it is a decent and entertaining game.....

What's the situation with Bobby? Is he still out?

    Prediction. 2-0 Liverpool.

Revisiting the Istanbul classic to whet the appetite for this one and the first thing that stands out is their starting line up vs. ours. It's borderline comical. Never forget that Djimi Traore, Milan Baros and Vladimir Smicer beat these. . .

    I'd go with...

    Ali

    Trent
    Matip
    Van Dijk
    Tsimikas

    Fabinho
    Hendo
    Thiago

    Salah
    Jota
    Mane

Rest Matip against Palace for one of the others.

Id be happy to see Matip have this game out but I don’t see the need for any other change.

Going to miss most of this, may be able to catch the first half hopefully.

I think it will be a tough game, cannot say I've watched AC Milan much over recent years but it seems they've started well this season. I'll say a tight 2-1 win for Liverpool. I see Giroud has been scoring for them and he might fancy it coming up against a Premier League side.

    Bunch of pretenders them.... :whistle

That side was full of top quality.

Arguably 2 years later they were weaker and you stronger, funny old game this football.

Fancy Liverpool to have too much for Milan here. 3-1

Should be a good game. Milan have improved a lot defensively so it'll be interesting to see if they can withhold Liverpools' attack.

We shall see, not sure they are quite as good as the defensive stalwarts from Croydon.
