Norwich looked a very good team, particularly First Half, aided by some suicidal playing out from the back by us. At Halftime Rohl wasn’t afraid to drastically change things, we were much more Aggressive, Physical, long Ball tactics and in their faces. Other than a short period they still looked relatively comfortable until our 1st goal. Once that had gone in and both the Team and the Fans upped their game, they really didn’t like it at all. We could have even gone on to Win a game, we’d never really been in. So pleased to gain a point against a far more talented side, shows how far effort, workrate and commitment can get you, it felt like a Win at the end. Hopefully we’ll be able to carry the momentum into the last 4 games and pull off another “Miracle” from where we were. We’ve definitely given ourselves a chance now, which shows how far we’ve come under Rohl. As for Norwich, they looked very good for most of the Match, but didn’t like it, when the pressure was really on. They have as good a chance as anybody in the Playoffs.
With a bit of coaching Adam Idah could be a top striker at Championship level, he’s got all the physical attributes.
Even more than coaching I just think he needs a good run of games as the main forward. In my opinion his main flaw has been that he's lacking that little bit of instinct and is often a second behind where he needs to be, both things that will come with playing games. I'm hoping we've sent him up to Scotland to see if he can find that mojo before returning to our squad next summer but I think we're looking to sell.
Massive opportunity tonight. Watford are a strange one as whenever I've seen them play, they've looked so dangerous with their pace. On paper they have a very good team, so I'm surprised they are where they are. Thanks Millwall.
Playing an open attacking team might help us as we struggle more against teams who sit back but still suspect you will win . 3-1 maybe .
Sheffield Wednesday tried that a few weeks ago and I’m sure they would like to forget what happened. We tend to do better against teams that are open and don’t sit back.
Saturday against Norwich is set up really nicely. Our home form has been pretty good since Christmas. 6 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats. Including wins against Ipswich & Leeds. Southampton is a tough game in hand, but they're definitely beatable if we get our tactics spot on.
Last night’s results have left me very nervous about our next 2 games. We could either be as good as safe or really staring down the barrel.
Hopefully we’ll come roaring back tonight, will have to improve on the weekend though as Watford could be dangerous if we’re not 100%. Should be a few goals with a bit of luck.
Josh maja could be on bench for us tonight. If not deffo the weekend. Be a huge boost. Hopefully he don't get injured
Playing Blackburn tonight. I'm sure most City fans would also describe this as a game that will consist of two 45-minute halves involving 22 players, with 11 on each side.
What about the handball on your first or the offside for your 2nd? The ref was absolutely appalling, it was never a pen but neither of your goals should have stood. Edit: I've just watched the highlights and I'm not sure about the offside, more down to Collins getting too excited for the boxing the weekend. Terrible game, terrible ref. It was always going to be tough away at Southampton, especially only a few days after Leeds. We did well in the first half until we missed the penalty so not long. We needed to get the rub of the green and grind it out but wasn't to be. Southampton are always good hosts.
A bit like George Hirst in that respect, both with the physical attributes and being trusted as the main man. Obviously would never happen but he’s the profile of striker McKenna would improve if he coached him.
Didn't see the handball until watching the highlights after my post, fair point! Just a terrible ref all round. Walker-Peters gets given the goal due to the error which is comical. Coventry fans the loudest to come to St. Mary's this season, which I didn't expect, especially on a Tuesday evening.
Absolute shit or bust time for us. Needless to say we desperately need a win tonight to settle the nerves.
