Sounds about right, same as us really. To be honest I’ve always said unless they introduce safe standing/cheap tickets I’d rather have a smaller ground full of the actual support than a huge ground filled in part by tourists. Any talk on if you’ll put rail seats in? I reckon any new ground would be mad not to. It doesn’t limit capacity and I think it’s a matter of time before they become legal anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Opening up that argument. I'd think you'd be in agreement that all seaters have affected atmosphere. Would you go with me on that theory? Possibly safe terraced sections in all areas. Apart from our Cricket Field. Make you away fans suffer
No idea, although considering three blocks of the Holmesdale stand for 90 minutes already you'd think it'd be a consideration for that section at least. I just hope we keep the seats close to the pitch and make it as intimidating as possible.
Sounds good. I agree that staying where you are is almost going to be preferable to moving. I'm glad Liverpool stayed put in the end and have redeveloped practically the entire ground in the last 25 years or so. It's still home. Selhurst Park badly needs a facelift. Couple of extra tiers though and it'll look miles better.
Planning permission granted! Apart from a bit of cladding I don't think Selhurst has been updated once in the 26 years I've had a season ticket. Exciting times ahead... even if it does take three years.
It's great news that planning permission has been granted. The new plans look fantastic and will certainly modernise the area. My only concern will be pricing, being the new main stand it's obviously going to be expensive but the last thing the fans will want is the cost to go up all over the ground to help pay for it. But a huge step and hats off to Steve Parish for making it happen.
I hope the camera wont be facing the Arthur Wait when it's done. To have a new amazing stand built only for the main cameras to be facing a stand that hasn't been updated since it was built in the 1960's.
Blatantly going to happen Selhurst has barely changed since I bought my first season ticket in the early 90s. It's going to be bloody weird having a massive stand and 8,000 extra seats just to the left of us. Going to take a lot of getting used to
Why have you randomly quoted a post in our sub-forum from 2017 to comment on something the club briefly did over eight years ago? Bizarre.
Planning permission regranted and more importantly a deal in place to buy houses and the strip of Sainsburys land that was stopping this from going ahead. Hopefully work will start by the end of next year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In all seriousness it's another step in the right direction. Would be brilliant if it finally got started. So glad we're going down this route rather than building another plastic borehole.
