well well well ahead by 1 goal. who do you think has the bottle to see it through ? celtic or rangers?
I'm sticking by what I thought at the start of the season. I think Rangers have the slightly easier last 3 games but on paper both teams should win against any other team in Scotland so I think it will come down to form and confidence which Celtic have the upper hand atm. Could still be a few twists and turns yet though. Incidently, Celtic's confidence and good form atm is good news leading up to the 21st.... and dare I say it, good news for Scottish football if they bring home the bacon. Goodluck to all teams fighting for championships, promotion, relagation, euro spots, cups etc It has been the most interesting, refreshing season for a long time and I have thouraghly enjoyed it as a "kinda" neutral
Hail! Hail! Back to where we belong! About time too! Great performance again last night by all the players. Another 3 displays like that and we'll have 3-In-A-Row with room to spare! I thing I hear someones bottle crashing!!...
remaining games celtic - hearts home 10th may dundee home 14th may kilmarnock away 25th may rangers - kilmarnock home 11th may hearts away 18th may dunfermline home 25th may
That title race is going to fascinating. I tipped Rangers at the start, so will stick to it although it's neck and neck, they've got two home games which are six easy points and a goal difference job, Hearts away they should win. Celtic's most difficult game IMO is against Dundee at home who are having a great run and Celtic have the UEFA final to worry about. If both teams win all the games though, which i think they will, it's impossible to call.
does dundees great run include the defeat they suffered at the hands of killie? why does everyone in this forum write us off we have had the best run of all teams in ther league outwith the old firm
I tipped Rangers at the start of the season, so I'll stick by my choice. Hearts may have something to say about it though... then again Dundee, or Kilmarnock could still do some damage!
Just put £50 on Celtic at 9/4 at Hills. Hedging my £5 at 25/1 on the UEFA that I put on blind drunk after the Vigo game. Poor paddy power, throwing money away again!! Hail! Hail! for the league and cup double!
It's true that you've also done well but we are in the cup final and have held both the Old Firm recently at Dens. We played rubbish when you beat us (our only defeat since Jan 2)
I think if Celtic win against Hearts then Rangers have it all to do. Killie are going well and if we beat hearts on the Saturday Rangers will be behind on points for the first time in months and Killie will know the win will take them 1 point behind hearts chasing the euro place. Then if we win again and killie beat Dunfermline(i think) hearts will need the win again for the euro place. So I think for the simple fact Celtic have two home games both before rangers play, and rangers having 1 home and 1 away then the next two games must favour Celtic. That said if they are still level on point on the last day rangers must be best placed, as Celtic will do well to get a result against killie never mind boost the goal diff.
last game i agree i think if celtic have to go to killie, and get a good win on the last day, it might be bad for us, its ahard place to play, i think we are in a good position right now, but i cant help fancy killie to pip hearts for a euro place. it will be mighty good to watch
If Celtic don't win it now, it will be a major shock. Celtic's strikeforce is so capable of scoring at will, and just look at how even Lambert scored two crackers the other night. When you look at Rangers you sometimes wonder how they even managed to get this far (yeah, yeah, even without "all those penalties"). I just can't see this Rangers team being able to score a hatful of goals, the way that Celtic constantly threaten to. Saying that, if Eck has any guts he might just get his young second team strikers out on the pitch (since we know that when this first happens they usually score a load). Whoever LOSES this title race now won't live it down for a long time. And if Celtic do win the UEFA Cup, and then the title, then it will be an absolutely outstanding achievement.
I feel Celtic are the form side at the moment, that victory against Boavista in Portugal re-kindled the players desire to win again. Beating Rangers at Ibrox I feel was the key moment of the title race this season.
Would any of you like to reconsider your thoughts after todays performance? does dundees great run include the defeat they suffered at the hands of killie? why does everyone in this forum write us off we have had the best run of all teams in ther league outwith the old firm We mostly write Killie off because you make it so easy for us! In 2 Ibrox games this season, you've scored none and conceded ten! Skorn is right in that Celtic have the better strikers, but despite this we are the top scorers of the league by 5 goals now. So if, at worst, we won our last 2 games 1-0, Celtic would have to win their 2 4-0 to have scored more goals than us this season! You think we'll only beat Dunfermline 1-0 on the last day at Ibrox? I think the crucial match is next weekend at Tynecastle. If Rangers win, I think the title will be ours (especially if we win with a few to spare, though I dont expect that). Celtic's 1-0 home victory over Hearts was hardly convincing, they have the UEFA Cup to think of, and we currently have (fingers crossed) no injury or suspension problems and a team that is on fire and scorign goals!
last weeks rangers are now, what ? 2 goals ahead ? i think the fact celtic were that far behind points and goals i mean, is a feat itself. we have dundee at home on wednesday (live bbc) and if (BIG IF) can score a few, and get a good win, then we are 3 points ahead, with a good goal differance ahead, then the gers have to go to tynecastle (hope hearts dont lie down) and get a decent victory, with a few goals. may be a celtic fan talking, but id much rather have our run in, than hearts away, im going for a draw, as hearts still need a point to get europe. will be interesting.
Celtic wont win the league on goal difference. If rangers win against Hearts then they have won the league. i just cant see dunfermline keeping the score below 5 at ibrox and cant see us getting that at killie. unless we score 5 or 6 against dundee and rangers only get a 1-0 against hearts then it would be a straight shoot out but as i say dunfermline are pretty poor against the old firm at the best of time never mind when we need to win. i just pray Hearts dont do thier usual and lie down. i dont know how many times in recent years hearts have been on a good run then they meet rangers and lose by 3 or 4.
