A great player who played for Liverpool 426 times scoring 54 goals. He also won 16 England caps.

As a young lad my dad & his mates took me to Anfield in 1969. We clinched the title that night in a dour 0-0 draw. Peter played that night along with other Liverpool greats Tommy Lawerence, Tommy Smith, Ron Yeats & Ian St John. At the end of the game one of our players raised his arm to The Kop then others followed suit. At first you could hear a pin drop but then the Kop chanted Champions at the Leeds team & it didn't stop. The reaction that night from the older Leeds fans is legendary. Don Revie, who was great mates with Bill Shankly, said afterwards " it was simply fantastic, what a gesture. You would have thought their team had won the league "

    Great memories.

    R.I.P. Peter.
