I am a Burnley fan for this week, come on The Clarets!
How's Wade Elliot doing for you lot? Hopefully he'll play as he a Saints fan, would love it if he scored. Didn't he score one early in the season?
Really enjoying watching you lot this season, keep up the good work lads!
(p.s my dad used to live in Burnley when he was younger and always tells me about that game against Orient where Grewcock and Britton scored to keep you in Div 4 (league 2 now?)

Think Overall this season Wade Elliott has done alright. Picking the ball up through the middle and running at defences is his strongest point. When Eagles plays though Elliott doesnt seem to get on the ball hlaf as much.

I was going to go this game until i spotted it was on sky so thought sack travelling all that way and probably come away defeated i'll watch it on sky. On and getting up in the small hours to get there before the 12:45 KO.

I'll be there, praying for an away win at last. I actually think this is a massive game for us, defeat would be really bad. Would probably take a draw as to not let them gain any ground on us. All depends on which Burnley turns up...

Need to win imo because were slipping closer to the relegation zone now. What are we 5 points off it. Knew sooner or later the home form would decline even if its still only one defeat at tm.:( these are the sides we need to be turning over whether its home or away.

Totally agree, a defeat here could spell trouble I think as it may effect confidence.

Pompey have the worst home record in the Premier League, with six defeats out of seven at Fratton Park and the Clarets have the worst away record with just one point from a possible 21 and a goal difference of -17. So something will have to give! It would be easy to predict a draw.

The fact that Portsmouth are bottom of the League, have financial problems and have a new manager who has yet to lead his team to victory just fills you full of dread. This is a must-win game for Pompey if they are to stay in touch with the other sides struggling in the relegation zone. We just have to focus and play our normal game. What though is our normal game, especially away from home? We certainly can`t play the way we did against West Ham after the first 20 minutes and before the last 20 minutes! All Clarets fans will be hoping that the team who played against Manchester City at Eastlands turns up. You can`t see the Clarets surrendering a 2-0 lead against the likes of Pompey and we have to hope we can at least take the lead to put them under pressure. If we do that their heads could drop and self-doubt take effect. I will go for a 2-1 victory to the Clarets.

Dont forget they hammered Wigan and Wigan turned us over. I hope your spot on though because we need a win sharpish!

Well, whaddya know? You're treating this as a must-win too...

I'm sort of hoping there's an urgency in our side that can give us a bit of a boost. It's our attack that's the problem - I don't know how your defence is, but if it's any better than Wigan's (which I would bet it is) we'll have problems again.

Meanwhile, we're missing Kaboul through suspension who's our best player, but I hope our defence will be able to compensate. Mind, Burnley have been scoring a fair few goals of late.

We need to win this one more, so can we have it please?

our defence is complete turd. 25 goals against away from home tells you that obvious fact mate:laugh: Caldwell banned which for me isnt a bad thing either. Wouldnt have him in the side tbh and Coyle SHOULD be looking to replace him in the transfer window but that wont happen. Seen faster donkeys on Blackpool beach than Caldwell.

We've let more goals in on the road than anybody in the premiership. No matter how bad your strike force is our defence will manage to make them look like world beaters

 That penalty award was a complete joke Wade Elliott got nowherenear him. 100% dive he should be ashamed of himself for that.

Burnley showing why we've let so many goals in Everytime Portsmouth go forward we look suspect as anything at the back and its not like their doing owt special. Thought we did alright for the first 25mins or so Fletcher should have burried his chance but looked to get his legs tangled up :(

Whoever takes the lead will win this i reckon.

It was never a penalty, correct, but I don't think Hereidasson dived. I just think he lost his footing, and he got back up straight away and kept on playing without an appeal.

A joke. I cannot remember when I was last as angry about a defeat as I am today. Portsmouth were hopeless, and despite us creating countless chances and playing pretty well in the main, up pops our 'away' defence and we lose. Coyle needs to sort this away day voodoo out and pretty dam quick. Not happy. I'll be surprised if many other teams goto Fratton Park and lose..

Glad I didn't go to this now, but I watched it and thought we were good for a point at least, Pompeys keeper pulled off some super saves v Fletcher and Big Kev.

I'm going to our next away game (Wolves) but I haven't got my hopes up :(

What did you think to Kevin McDonald pal? I thought he was our best player yesterday and didnt really do owt wrong. Got a good eye for a pass and put a couple of decent through balls to Fletcher, Coyle needs to be starting him more often and ive been saying that all season long. Not out of place at all in the premiership and can only see him getting better with the more games he plays.

I thought, a long with Fletch he was our best player as well.

Would love to see him start with Chris McCann when he is back but I've got a feeling with Coyle it's going to be one or the other.

I too thought Fletch and Kev were our best players. Very impressed with Fletcher now, good pace, great workrate, strong, wins a lot of headers and his hold up play is good. I thought Kev showed promise as usual - good passing, direct, quick and strong. Will be a class act no doubt about it. Not impressed with Jordan again, looked a bit off the pace and was caught a number of times out of position (even Eagles had to cover him). Wasn't impressed with Bikey either, think he is better in midfield - whack Edgar in at centre back. Thought Carlisle had a good game.

I dont think any of our defenders overall are good enough for the premiership. I expected Bikey to be a good signing for us i really did but yet again yesterday he just takes his eye off the ball, Dindane won the ball off him on the touchline when it should have been his ball all day long and come close to costing us a goal and for their second goal the ball was there to be won and let it sail over his head, not good enough by a long way on the showings ive seen him play in defence.

    Apart from the Utd game
