They won't last long. None of these type groups do. They will be targeted by a section of the Rangers support who don't believe they should ever be questioned. The thing Rangers fans don't seem to get is, no one is saying only Rangers fans behave in a less than desirable way, many big fan bases have these people. The problem with Rangers is that there lies an inherently anti Catholic hatred that runs deep within the families of their supporters, they will deny it, of course they will but we all work with these type of people and anyone who has ever worked on a buildings sire will become accustomed to sectarian slurs aimed at anything Irish or Catholic. Half the time these guys don't even know the meaning of what they are saying or why it is wrong, it's just seen as banter. For me until Rangers as a football club come out and challenge the 50k at Ibrox who sing 'upto our knees in Fenian blood" then we will always have this reaction from their core fan base to deflect and defend. You would think some of them are signing up to a Rangers Army regiment the way they are acting on twitter this week. And remember all because many of their fans are now being arrested and charged for racism, the very thing they claimed to be against last year. This all points to the very fact that these guys have been brought up and conditioned into thinking anything anti Catholic or anti Irish is seen as acceptable banter. It is not and never will be.
Nail on head. We have our own element in the support who tarnish the name, but certainly the religious aspect is far more deep rooted at Rangers. An example of this would be If both supports were allowed to sing what they wanted at matches, our ‘go to’ song (after a goal for example) would always be ‘Hail Hail’. Theirs would be ‘The Billy Boys’. It’s normalised and ingrained in a generation of their support and we heard it being aired again loud and proud a couple of weeks ago. Anybody within the club or even fan groups who challenge the status quo will always be up against it.
Agree but they will never truely challenge it as bigots and racists are their main funding source. They may even bring out another orange strip to commemorate it.
Do you even believe this? That there aren't just as many Celtic fans who hate everything British and Protestant? Look at the tweets and comments, similarly disgusting...and think about how one sided your reaction to all of this is. Have a look in the mirror and get a grip will you Not as big an element? And...as deep rooted as for example - hanging dolls from the stands actually inside the stadium on matchday clearly indicating death to protestant Rangers supporters? No, Celtic fans wouldn't do that. Tea and biscuits for us every time we go there. hope so!
I see they are now taking their anti Catholic/Irish racism on tour to other clubs. John McGinn getting it at Stamford Bridge by a Scot shouting 'We are the People' in between the sectarainism and racism.
I see we're top of the table and you're 5th. Could that be why you're finding a Rangers problem in something totally unrelated to Rangers? No, probably not, since you did it for years when we weren't even in the same league.
Delusional as always. Plenty of screaming about fenian bastards every other week at that shithole you mention. Doesn't take much to work out it's a Rangers fan on a day trip, especially given all the other recent racist incidents spewing forth from your support.
As i can't see the reply i'll take it it's the deluded halfwit i muted. Now let's see. . A scottish voice shouting the Rangers line 'We are the people' in between anti catholic abuse.. . Na no chance it's a Rangers fan down watching their favourite English team The balloon will probably still be answering my posts back months after being blocked
Me? That's so rich . Already schooled you on this, but I'll humour you again. Racist much like your own support then? With their life size dolls imitating the death of protestants and regular screams of h** or orange ***** at your own dumping ground. Your small mindedness is clear largely because of your inability to see fault in your own sectarian bile spouting fans, perhaps you are one yourself. You're certainly full of hatred. Personally I don't tend to jump on the sectarian element of either support because I am bored of and have come to expect it. I see the value in highlighting it of course, but when you only do so from one side (and clearly can't wait to drag Rangers into it), it makes you look as stupid as you are. The above incident is about as related to Rangers as the group of 7 or 8 young fellas I heard in person not so long ago are to Celtic - chanting about a certain former Rangers player dying in his sleep, glorifying your supports favourite sectarian terrorist organisation in the same clever song - in that they were wearing no Celtic attire and it didn't happen at the dome. By your way of reckoning though, it can easily be inferred. No doubt that's all ok though. The incident at Stamford Bridge makes clowns like you and your mate happy, which is the really sad thing. That old phrase you like to use when the plethora of dark secrets from within your own club rear their ugly heads - "point scoring" - comes to mind. Never come across a more childish boy in my life than you. Everyone you interact with on this forum takes the p*** out of you because you are so easy and utterly delusional. Still pretending not to see my posts and yet still replying to them anaw Great value Still making you look like a fool on a regular basis and it still makes you such an angry wee man
Oh and look, the scum being racist as usual. Scotland’s shame. 'Racist and sectarian singing' at Orange Walk in Glasgow as police make arrests
