It looks to me like this has been in the water for a long time with how quick people are suggesting Lennon has already agreed to step in. Looks like the problems at board level which have been talked about have been enough to make another manager walk out. Lennon will be a safe pair of hands to bring home number 8, long term I don't think he would take the job after walking out last time but hopefully we can get someone of the same calibre of Rodgers in. If anyone mentions Moyes al kick them square in the nuts.
Don't see why he would want to go personally unless he is getting a huge payrise. Perhaps a decent job done at Leicester will catch the attention of bigger clubs more than a job well done at Celtic so he might be going with that in mind.
Gotta be something at board level.. They never gave him money in January.. Had to bring in a few loanees. That's not feesable considering you got to the last 32. If he got money to spend, you could be in the last 16.
We can't deny this anymore, Rodgers has had problems with the board and its obviously broke down, the writing was on the wall when he said Shved wasn't his signing but a club signing. Now it's time for the board to give us answers Because Lennon walked due to not being backed and its looking like it's the same with Rodgers. Lennon will come in till the end of the season imo and will be a safe pair of hands but I don't think he would want it pernamently. Supposedly the compo is £7 million, that's enough to get a top manager in. Slavan Bilic would be my choice.
If Rogers does make the step up to Leicester, is there anyone playing at Celtic that might take on a player/manager role until the end of the season?
With Leicester City second in the Premier League table, it looks like Rodgers was made the right decision to leave Celtic when he did.
He is a very good manager (incidentally far better than those down south gave him credit for when he was up here) so it's no surprise to see how well he is doing. The gripe that I and many other fans had was more about the way he strung us along as opposed to him wanting a job in the premiership. The way things are going, Leicester fans may end up feeling exactly the same.
Right decision for Rodgers maybe but his whole sideshow of lies, his reasoning and his timing ruined it for him here. Leicster fans better enjoy him now because we all know what happens next.
