Rules in Current Affairs Forum

C.A. Forum Rules.

This is probably the hardest forum on footballforums.net to manage and you guys really don’t make life easy for the staff to do so. The whole point of being a mod is to sit back, and accept people's right to express their opinions even if you don't like or agree with them and judge content based on the AUP.

Recent trends in posting on this area of the site have necessitated a need to update the rules relating specifically to posting in this forum, to ensure that everyone is aware what will not be tolerated and how breaches will be dealt with.

Deliberately diverting thread topics:

The topic of a thread should be maintained by everyone posting in it. Whilst a thread on immigration is going to cross into political policy naturally it is NOT a vehicle to drag up terrorism or Nazi’s every other post. Those members constantly dragging threads off topic will be warned and their off topic posts deleted. In the case of persistent and continuous posting of the same topic in every thread in order to divert the topic, the culprits will have their access to CA removed.

Abuse of other members:

Whether you agree or disagree with a person’s views posted within this forum it is not permitted to abuse the poster for their views. This includes calling the poster male appendages, male appendage heads, faeces heads, personal pleasure addicts, or any other childish names in the many and various tried and tested methods or bypassing the swear filter.

Constant bickering within threads about member’s intelligence, social position, social background, is not acceptable. Constantly derailing threads with ‘that’s because you’re thick / unemployed / Irish / German / Northern’ etc is not acceptable

- Doing so will result in the entire post being deleted not edited so the 20 lines of well constructed debate before ending the post with the offending comment will be lost.

- Continuing to do so will result in a ban from CA. The length of the ban will be communicated to the member depending upon the severity of the incident and may range from 1 week to permanent, at the discretion of the staff.

Use Of Racial Names and insults:

Racism and racist remarks will not be tolerated; ANY slang terms used to describe race, religion or ethnicity (e.g … the N word, the P word, the C word and the more recently used term ‘bin laden’s’) will result in an immediate ban from CA. The length of the ban will be communicated to the member depending upon the severity of the incident and may range from 1 week to permanent, at the discretion of the staff.

Responding to abuse / racist comments:

The REPORT POST button is there specifically for reporting members who breach the rules of any area of this site and should be used whenever a member breaches the site rules or the extended CA rules.

Users responding to posts of this nature will be treated in the same manner as the original poster. Responding to the comments will be viewed as ‘inciting’ the situation and will be treated in the same manner as other breaches of the rules.

Registering under a new name to circumvent a CA ban:

This will result in one or both your accounts being banned from the entire site.

If you have problems with these rules then it is recommended that you do not post in this area of footballforums.net .

It is assumed that all users of the CA Forum have read these rules, and agreed to abide by them.

 

I suggest EVERYBODY reads the above again and familiariases themselves with all the rules specific to this forum.

NAME CALLING is not allowed.

If you can not keep your posts to the point without making personal comments about the previous poster and calling them mongs / pricks / pathological liars / idiots / nazis / etc then DO NOT POST

All posts in future with name calling no matter how relevant to the topic will be removed. Those with posts being removed and a single warning will be issued publicly in the thread in question, if further instances are noted then access to CA removed permanently

This notice applies to all posts made AFTER this one and is not applicable retrospectively

 

Today I have raised the question in the Admin forum about locking Current Affairs to posts by members.


The personal spats, name calling and constant bitching has now reached a level where the ONLY member of staff on this site who cares enough to moderate it has run out of the desire to do so.

In advance of a decision being made this notice is being posted

Please read the rules above and post in accordance with them, ANY name calling personal rubbish posted from now on will result in an immediate and permanent ban from this part of the site.

No warnings will be issued

Ignorance is not an excuse.
