Surely his position is untenable. If people want the game cleaned up people like Giggs can't be allowed to continue in this sort of role.

He will probably be sacked as Wales boss or have the decency to quit. Obviously being charged doesn't equate to being guilty so maybe they will wait to see how things pan out at the magistrates hearing next week

The FAW will only sack him if he's been found guilty. They can't afford to pay him off.

Something concerning about Ryan Giggs, who seems a fairly unassuming boring person when you hear him speak, having all this sort of stuff going on in his private life.

Ryan Giggs has resigned as Wales manager with immediate effect.

The former Manchester United winger, 48, stepped away from his role in November 2020 after being arrested.

Giggs was later charged with using controlling behaviour and assaulting his ex-girlfriend, charges he has denied.

Robert Page, 47, took over as interim Wales boss in Giggs' absence, leading them to a first World Cup finals since 1958.

The Football Association of Wales is expected to release a statement later on Monday evening.

    Giggs resigns as Wales manager

No great surprise I guess - even if acquitted Page wouldn't be asked to step down now.

Regardless of his personal issues I wasn’t keen on him being manager to be honest but fair play to him he led us to qualifying to our second euros ever. Definitely for the best to walk away now, hopefully helps settle the team before the WC.

Wouldn't have been fair on Page just strolling back in to take over on the grandest of stages.

Surprised he can even look himself in the mirror each morning after what he did to his brother and all that super-injunction nonsense.

The reasons the case has been dropped don’t paint the picture of an innocent man
