Two weeks tonight is it? Tickets are going to be gold dust, just 9,000 for a club that could quite easily sell 50,000+ As many corporate tickets as the two teams are getting I believe...insane.
The ticket allocation is a joke. Shitloads of tickets going to corporate sponsors is standard but they need a bigger stadium so they can still have plenty left.
It's another thing I don't like about the Europa. They put the CL final at the top venues like San Siro or Wembley and the Europa finals at sub-40k capacity stadiums. It makes the competition look second rate. We'd fill that ground twice over if we had the opportunity. As it is fans will be paying well over the odds from corporates and UEFA family.. Only good thing is Sevilla probably won't have that much of a demand beyond the 9,000 because they've just played and won the last 2, plus have a Spanish Cup final that week. Villareal or Shakhtar wouldn't have taken many either. Dortmund would have been worse as they could fill that ground twice over easy by themselves for a final.
Sums up the relentless season we've had of games under Klopp that we've got to play 3 more games in 9 days before the final the following Wednesday
As I said in the semi final thread, best of luck lads. Can just picture your lads losing every 50:50 tackle in the run up to the final, because they're worried about picking up an injury and ruling themselves out. Wouldn't surprise me if they've been advised to do just that, to be honest. League is a write off, but you have a real, tangible chance at a trophy and Champions League qualification all at once now.
Well this'll cap the run we got off! 2 weeks to get through without any more injuries, just put Newcastle/Swansea-esque teams out in the league now, we need the spine fit for the final. Origi hopefully back is a big plus. Sevilla will be a tough game, they are a consummate cup side but we've beaten the best team in tournament and the best team in England this season, we shouldn't worry about our ability to compete... Yeah, we've got 10,236 tickets in total, but only 47% are being set aside for supporters. Less than 5000 going to the fans... UEFA Europa League final: Ticket details I've seen I'll be in the ballot but incredibly slim chance. It's the venue as well though.
It's just one of many instances that goes to show UEFA couldn't care less about supporters when making decisions.
It's just our luck as well. Last year in Warsaw the capacity was about 56,000. With Sevilla not taking that many we'd have had about 40,000 there. Next year it's in Sweden with a 50,000 capacity so we'd have had most of that. Now we'll probably have 20,000 there but half of them will have to pay well over the odds. Only consolation is Sevilla might not fill their allocation, whereas if it was Dortmund or United they'd be like us in being massively over subscribed in terms of fans wanting tickets. We should have home advantage in having maybe 3 quarters of the stadium, but it's a stadium about the same size as the Riverside Stadium for a European final. It's just stupid. Surely as a bear minimum it should be 40,000.
We have an allocation of 10,236 tickets. Sevilla have the same but aren't expected to sell all of theirs. There's going to be many who attended all the Europa league games home and away who miss out. At least my name is in the hat for the ballot I guess.
It's unfortunate for Liverpool fans and a bit of a cock up on UEFA's part. Normally they can get away with a smaller capacity in this competition but this season was probably one of the strongest last 32/last 16 lineups in this competition for a long time. There were a good few names this season that wouldn't look out of place in the Champions League. I did like Klopp coming out and saying to travel over to Basel with/without a ticket and then the club following the normal ruling of "don't travel without a ticket". I bet someone's had a word in Klopp's ear following it
They've got away with it in a way because a final between any 2 of Liverpool, Spurs' United and Dortmund and they could have filled out the nou camp just with the two sets of fans. It's their loss as well as the fans.
Well, I was wrong. Anyone who had been to all the home games and one away, or any mix of eight games, was guaranteed a ticket. I missed that by one game and missed out in the ballot for those who had attended seven. Gutting but expected. F*ck UEFA.
Its an absolute disgrace. I know a couple of lads like yourself that have missed the one game and both have missed out.
