Appears to be a bit of a mystery and we could have anyone from Rafael Benitez to Slaven Bilic in charge of us. Looking at our squad I'd like to keep: Reid Cresswell Tomkins Kouyate Carroll Downing Adrian Sakho Noble Collins Amalfitano Poyet Valencia Burke Potts Nene Jussi (one last season, the guy is 40 after all) Jenkinson (if he's affordable) I'd like us to get shot of: O'Brien (offers nothing) Demel (not consistent enough, but not a bad player) Nolan (Did alright, but this season I think should be his last as a top flight player) Song (judging by him post-christmas, a waste of a jersey) Cole (a real trier, but his goal scoring record is hopeless) Morrison (get shot of ASAP) Zarate (got better options that him) Not sure what we'll have available, so thoughts?
I think he's a decent player but he'll be behind Carroll, Sakho and Valencia at least and possibly Nene. I'd rather a couple of young academy players get a chance than him in that situation.
Yeah I agree with the first post, spot on regards the players to go and I share pretty much the same opinions on those players. Nene has also gone today! I hope that the 25m budget is conservative from the owners as the new man needs at least 40m imo. Hopefully the Dave's aren't showing their hands so clubs we try to do business with wont take the piss too much. The manager is my main concern. Klopp, ancelotti and Benitez aren't realistic. Moyes has said no, emery would be fckin mad to to leave his current club, it just won't happen. Bielsa is looking like signing a new contract with Marseilles and de boar has just resigned with Ajax. Bilic could go to schalke, di mateo is starting to look ever more likely? We need some one in within the next week in all honesty
A shame about Nene, the guy hardly got a chance with us to show what he can do, so I'm not surprised he's gone. I'd say £50-70m with any excess made from player sales being enough. £25m would get us nowhere- but then we don't have half as much money as people think. If DI Matteo takes over I expect nothing but a disappointing season.
Shame about Dan Potts. http://www.whufc.com/News/Articles/2015/May/28-May/Hammers-confirm-Retain-List
He'll be nothing more than a #2 to Adrian, so I don't see it being that much of a problem. Randolph's an alright keeper and to get him on a free is a pretty risk-free piece of business.
Getting worried now regards our manager appointment. We are being knocked back left right and centre because many of these managers want to manage a team a level or 2 above us. Why would Benitez, ancelotti etc want to come to a club that is getting a new stadium, may get investment, small transfer budget etc when they can manage a top european team already challenging for trophies and playing in the CL? Bilic seems to want the job. Right now id give it to him rather than trying to aim for the Sky and losing out on him as he's unhappy at being our 39th choice in 2 weeks time when we finally offer him the job. Right at this moment he is the best bet but still a risk we didn't need to be taking. At least he will unite the fans (for the moment) Our fans put far too much weight on being London based and having a new stadium next year with the potential for investment. London isn't f kin Monte Carlo or the centre of the world, and the only thing we can guaruntee the new guy is a new stadium. They should've given sam 3 years last time to get us to the stadium when we will be a more attractive proposition. The joys of being a iron!
Heavily linked with Emery. Also: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-transfer-target-andre-pierre-5817178 would be interesting if we could get him.
Old news Im afraid mate, he's come and gone already. And the buzz is he will either be staying at Sevilla or will be going to Napoli. He hasnt said no but the powers that be dont expect him to come. Why would he? He can stay in Spain and take Savilla in the the CL/go to Italy and manage one of the best sides in the league, or he can come to a mid table prem side with average players, holes inthe squad and £25m to sort it all out. It will be bilic and I think we need to move quickly now so we dont lose him as we have run out of options. Sam couldn;t of stayed for the good of the club because of the (misplaced) hatred of him by half of our fans. Yet had he stayed for 1 more year until we were in the OS we may have been able to attract the likes of Emery etc. Some of our fans probably now realise that being london based and a large stadium doesn't make us a golden ticket or an attractive proposition for a top manager, it accounts for fck all! Lack of patience has possibly held us back in the end and Bilic is a risk I would rather of not taken in this most important season. He could do fantasticaly well or be utter shite; I honestly have no idea, but he is now the best candidate on our ever depleting short list
Interesting to see if he implements the same system he used in Turkey. Not sure we've got anything like the squad to play an attacking 4-2-3-1 right now.
