I’m guessing it’s because he’s even more of an entitled, insufferable ****, which takes some doing when you are comparing someone to Barton.

  2. Or he's got a point on the racism.

    Bullshit.
    There's no racism involved.

I assume any job comes with some sort of interview process though. He doesn't come across very well publicly so wouldn't surprise me if interviews have taken a similar pattern.

He's already talked about being one of the best footballers in the world and he's only been there two minutes.

I'm never going to appear objective when it comes to him but the fact he's pretty unpopular speaks volumes imo.

The racism claim is outrageous. The man is bonkers, he comes across as an absolute fruit loop- look at his first interview as Macclesfield boss, banging on about how their fans should realise he was one of the best footballers in the world.

Anyone who's seen his video talking about the FA Cup knows how weird he comes across

I remember when he wanted to be the Tory Mayor for London he didn't get nominated and immediately cried racism,he's not the brightest button in the tin is he?

He was doing other stuff like trying to enter politics - I know his wife set up a business as well.

Depends on how many he applied for I suppose.

Paul Ince got a job straight away
    Keith Curle too

Could well be racism involved but dare say there may be other factors we are unaware of?

This sums it up. He's come out with some right weird stuff in the media over a number of years including when he was a player. If he comes across in interviews the same way he comes across in the media it's no wonder he's never got any jobs higher up. He's a PR disaster waiting to happen.

It's nothing to do with his skin colour. A white former player spouting the same kind of shit will get blackballed too (Dave Kitson is a name that springs to mind).

He applied for the Grimsby job once. The club called him in for an interview and rather than go himself, he sent his agent.

Bumping this up to keep everyone update on Sol's efforts (and to help the place look more busy).

Campbell has made is mark on the squad with 10 signings:

Manny Idem (GK): 20 y.o. from Villa youth, looked poor in county cup game.
Zak Jules (CB): Young CB who's had several failed loan spells (some injuries). Was taken off 51 min into 2nd game at Vale due to struggling.
Stelios Demetriou (LB): Most recently in Scotland, once got hit by a half eaten Bounty and decided to finish it off.
Brice Ntambwe (CM): Strong, energetic midfielder; Belgian youth teams. Partick Thistle fans said he is "creative...for the opposition."
Reece Cole (Anywhere in midfield so far): Loan from Brentford, good at free-kicks (apparently, Rose won't let him take one).
Enoch Andoh (Winger): Apparently was good for Vale before bad injury, looked lightweigh in county cup game.
Adam Dawson (Winger): 60 games for 19 (nineteen) different clubs, no sign of him since signing several weeks ago.
Liandro Martis (Winger): Curaçaoan, was at Leicester U23. Once was on trial at Man Utd but not played any first team football.
Boti Biabi (ST): 22 y.o. loan from Swansea. Came on vs. Mansfield, looked lively but couldn't get past defenders.
Shamir Mullings (ST): Perhaps the most bizarre and underwhelming signing. While we needed height up front with Smith injured, not sure Mulllings was the answer. He briefly signed for us in Autumn 2017: signed on loan on the Saturday but turned up for training on Monday with a broken jaw. Didn't tell anyone but wouldn't head the ball. Turned out he'd got in a fight on the Saturday night at a club. His loan ended on the Thursday. This year was loaned out from Maidstone to Dagenham; fans of both teams are delighted to see him leave.

Done pretty well hasn't he but last couple of results have been disappointing.

Still given you a great chance of staying up.

God I hope they don't stay up. His self entitlement will go through the roof, and it's already unbearable.

I bet Man Utd are annoyed that they jumped in with giving Ole a contract when they could have nabbed Sol.

In all seriousness though, the turnaround at Macc has been superb. Fair play to him
