Have just had a(NOIP) through post and got caught doing 63 in as 50 limit on the A40 Northolt bypass , am not contesting it but have been told can go on a course where you get no fine/points , but not all areas offer one

Yes I have been on one a couple of years ago. When you get caught speeding you get 3 points and, I think, £70 fine. If you agree to the refresher course you pay your £70 to them but get no points on your licence. The course I attended had 50 or so people present of all ages. You get a copy of the highway code too for your £70

A colleague of me had it recently, it cost him £ 90, he found it quite funny in a way and at least avoided points.

I'd imagine the £70 would be worth it to avoid insurance bullshit with points on your licence?

You would be losing £60/£70 anyway as you would be fined for speeding plus 3 penalty points so you are much better to spend the £70, attend the course and avoid the penalty points.

I got the same, i know the thread is a month and a half since a reply.

I'd rather take the course, £84 fine, than have the three points and insurance going up in price, which is quite dear now would be more if i take the points.
