I get the impression that many Rangers fans just want to see the back of some of these players and would like the season to end now. Having watched that today I'm not surprised.
In 1996-1997, Caley and ourselves were still in the old Third Division and fighting for promotion (Caley won the league that year and rightly so, they were better than everyone else) with two games to go, ourselves and Forfar were virtually neck and neck, with Forfar due to play Inverness away- with Caley only losing once since the last day of August and already promoted, we'd heard rumours they were going to lie down to Forfar and stop us from coming up with them. Which they promptly did, getting humped 4-0. We lost out to Forfar on goal difference. I know it's a tad bitter but they've lorded that over us for so long let me enjoy this moment.
If they hate you as much as you hate them (I doubt it somehow) then I don't blame them. Don't think the County directors and commercial department will be looking forward to Caley going down as much as their small-mined fans do, only time you get a decent crowd there apart from vs the OF is when Inverness visit.
Watched the highlights of our game on Sportscene and both pundits were saying that the Craig Gordon incident was a stonewaller. Sutton was saying the same on Friday. I think Gordon has got away with a few this season but I've seen that one quite a few times and I still don't think it's a penalty. At all times Gordon is concentrated on the ball and gets it away.
I didn't think it was a penalty either, He is going the opposite way from the Aberdeen player (following the ball) when the Aberdeen player more or less runs into him instead of going after the ball.
How can it be a stonewaller if Gordon is fully concentrated on the ball and gets it? Just watched it again on YouTube and I can't believe that anyone would see that as a stonewaller.
How can he get the player if he is looking and moving the opposite way, the Aberdeen player gets the ball but then instead of going after it falls into Gordon.
There is a collision but this isn't a result of Gordon going for the man. The Aberdeen player's momentum means that he and Gordon collide. At first glance I can understand some thinking it might be a penalty, but I don't get why anyone would still think that after even one replay of the incident. A I said before, Gordon has been lucky on other occasions this season but he done nothing wrong here.
There was an incident in the first half where Sinclair was brought down in the box. He'd overhit the ball and it went out of play. Similar to that one. Yet not one replay or discussion about it. Imo it wasn't a pen but there was no way at all that that sheep player was going to get the ball if Gordon and he never clashed. It's not a penalty for me. You would think they had won that game the way they've been banging on since. Feels like our second defeat of the season after the 1-1 hammering we took at home from Rangers.
Just watched it. There's absolutely no chance that should have been a penalty. Gordon went for, and got, the ball.
They did fine after they pulled a goal back and caused us some problems, but it does seem like desperation. I would be surprised if they don't put up a far better showing than they did in the League Cup Final, but if we play well we will win regardless of what they do.
