Anyone think Hearts have emerged as challengers for the top places this season. It's conceivable that they could win their fourth straight game at the weekend and if they do they will put some early light between themselves and others. With us playing the derby one or both will drop points. Early in the season but they have given themselves a great chance of setting the tone for their season. I don't think they will challenge for the title but they look like they are going to massively improve their points total of last season.
Hearts look stronger than Aberdeen from what I have seen so far. I think Hearts will push Rangers and Hibs for second instead of Aberdeen this year.
My prediction for the top 5 was... Celtic Rangers Hearts Hibs Aberdeen From what I’ve seen so far, Hearts will definitely finish third or fourth. As always, they will be difficult to beat at Tynecastle.
Difference between Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen is that both Hibs and Aberdeen have lost crucial players and not replaced them whereas Hearts have improved their side.
From what I've seen i think Hearts will challenge for second. It's a brutal style of football but a few teams have went down that road this season.
Have a think about the red cards that have been rescinded this season and ones that haven't even been looked at (Naismith and Alan McGregor) then have a look at Gary Dicker of Kilmarnock's red card that was upheld today. BBC Sport Scotland on Twitter Something far wrong in our game.
Aberdeen look dead and buried against Killie who have made some excellent signings in the past week. Hearts running away with it against St Mirren with a Naismith Hatrick, they have been the best team In the league so far this season.
The look like they could put in a real challenge this season. Also delighted to see how McCann's season is panning out.
Another sacking - Alan Stubbs at St Mirren. Doesn't seem their fans are too unhappy at this news its far to say.
St Mirren fans seem very hard to please. They wanted rid of Lennon after he won them a league cup, wanted rid of Jack after 5 games and ended up arguing with him in the stands and now Stubbs who has them siting 2 points away from the top six. No manager should be getting sacked four games in.
Alan McGregor has won Rangers more points than any player in their squad this season. In the last two games Alan McGregor has committed two sending off offences. The first cowardly lunge at a player wasn't looked at by the compliance officer, the second cowardly kick on a player on the deck with his back to him was looked at by three former referees and deemed acceptable. Even Steven Gerrard called it 'blatant' after the game and stated he's be having a word with him about it. It is the most blatant sending off you'll ever see but yet again no action against a player many know Rangers really need on the park. To put it bluntly it's 'blatant' cheating. BBC Sport ScotlandVerified account@BBCSportScot 2h2 hours ago Allan McGregor won't face any action after his kick out at Celtic's Kristoffer Ajer on Sunday. Ibrox manager Steven Gerrard described the act as "blatant". BBC Sport Scotland on Twitter
This ‘excessive force’ phrase needs to be punted. It should have been a sending off and even Gerrard admitted as much, but these two words mean that guys who should be carded are going to get away with it.
It's a get out clause to cheat and even at that they have abused it. Here is the definition of excessive. . excessive [ɪkˈsɛsɪv, ɛkˈsɛsɪv] ADJECTIVE more than is necessary, normal, or desirable; immoderate. "he was drinking excessive amounts of brandy" So 'more than necessary'. . . .well Alan McGregor didn't need to touch Ajer at all and went out of his way to kick out at him. Therefor ANY kick at all at Ajer is 'excessive' or 'more than necessary' never mind the obvious excessive force that he used. It's blatant cheating and for them to hide behind the wording of the ruling on this incident simply highlights even more what they are all about.
I know its not the SPFL but: How did this happen!? Watch Partick Thistle's incredible 'ghost goal' against Morton
