Steve Thompson was a great signing and we always look more dangerous when he plays upfront. He's scored some important goals for us and is a giant in the air and seems to win the majority of headers he goes up for. He's deceivingly skillful on the ball and his hold up play is great.

Whether he can cut it in the Prem is another question, he'll get his chance and I hope he takes it.

When you're in a scrap at the bottom (which with all due respect you will be) then a big physical striker can be a massive plus especially if you have a quick finisher next to him. Look at the likes of Carew and Agbonlahor at Villa. Great combination.

Which is everything us Cardiff fans could see but unfortunately due to our arsehole of a manager taking a disliking to him he was out the door.

Thommo's had the last laugh and i'm so glad. Good luck to him and Burnley for next season:duke

I loved thomo when he was with us, such a great guy and he was so under rated right from the start, better than half the shit we have at the moment by a long way...

I like him when he was at Rangers, never really got a real good chance. Great in the air, he is a fighter and will give his all. Hopefully he gets his chance in the premiership.

What did you Cardiff fans think of his goal against Reading at Madejski in Play-Offs semi? He admitted earlier in the season he was not a natural goalscorer but he's scored over 10 for us this season and his assists have been priceless. His heading ability both defensively and in attack are great assets. He virtually gets an accurate header in 100% of time!!

Good player, was certainly the type of player we needed to bring in. Hope he continues to perform well, bit of an unsung hero at Burnley!
