I'm not gonna do it as a poll, as there are obviously about 30 options, but I'm interested in who people think our player of the season has been, and why.

Personally I'm going for Rob Hulse. He's led the line alone at times, and on occasion must have been mightily frustrated, but he has never given less than 110% for the team, and has been rewarded with 8 crucial goals, without which we would probably be relegated already. Was awfully unfortunate to suffer such a serious injury against Chelsea and end his excellent season prematurely, but I still think he deserves the award. I only hope that if we do stay up, people don't forget his achievements and the massive part he's played, simply because he's not involved in the run-in.

I'd say Hulse too, as you say, he always gives 110% in every game he plays and without his contribution to the team we would more than likely be down.

Even when he hasn't scored, he's had some part in more or less every other goal we've scored. He's an absolute class act, and it's a shame his season has had to come to an end so early.

I also think there should be an award created for the most improved player. Derek Geary has took the Premiership in his stride, I can't believe he hasn't been considered for an International call up. He's been absolutely fantastic this season, and to be honest I thought he would be one of the players shipped out before the start of this season.

I thought about Geary, but decided on the basis of his contribution that it must be Hulse. True as you say, Geary has surprised many blades fans, myself included, with how well he has adapted to life in the premier league. However, I think we could have stayed up without del boy, but not without Hulse.

It's called a figure of speech. Not everything has to be said in the exact politically correct way.

It's only the same when people say, "I'll be there in a minute" they rarely are, but you don't say I'll be there in 6 minutes and 42 seconds do you?

You make out the world's coming to an end

People say 'I'll be there in a minute' because they can't tell specifically how long they will be, obviously.

It's like saying Hulse gives all he possibly can, and then a bit more. It's just stupid.

But he does exactly that. He works his bollocks off every game, and at the end of every game he can barely run. He takes allsorts of grief and continues to work hard even if he's got nothing left in the tank.

But arguing aside, you can't give more than 100%. :)

You can't "work your bollocks off" either can you?

    Stop being so anally retentive.

For the thread, i would say Hulse followed by geary as both would die for the shirt and give 120% every game, i just think hulse is the player we would have/will miss more though.

Per Cent literally means out of 100, so 110 out of 100 is a stupid nonsensical cliche that also pisses me off and makes you look ****ing stupid.

My vote also goes to Rob Hulse the guy has proved wrong all the doubters and showed he can hack it in the Premiership.

Geary has been good but his positional sense is sometimes dire as proven against Chelsea.

Some serious lack of respect for THE MAN GILLESPIE here. And my namesake and Stephen Quinn haven't even been mentioned, how very unMASSIVE. :(

I think Nick "Bobby Ford in disguise" Montgommery deserves a mention.
