King was excellent against us twice last season IIRC. Clearly Howe has seen something he can work with. King's record suggests that he's inconsistent and a little injury prone, but still quite young. Bwetween King and Atsu, it's an up-scaling of the way AFCB has always worked. Sign them cheap and young, and develop them. Just that we're able to sign significantly better raw materials these days.
Good luck to him, was never going to stay at Ewood so been on the cards for months. Bags of pace as you know. He wants to play up front so am guessing he's been given some reassurances? Injury prone is an understatement but I'll be watching with interest to see if him being at a different club makes a difference there. Is he good enough for Premier League? Don't know, time will tell. Biggest loss to us is the pace side tbh as we don't have that with any of our other players. Compensation will be involved (whether tribunal is down to the clubs).
Bournemouth already had plenty of pace, energy and youth in their starting 11 but perhaps not so much on the bench? Well Howe has just rectified that with the signings of Atsu and King.
Definitely going to be interesting watching them with that amount of pace. Could cause teams some major problems on the counter. Think they could have done better than King. Low risk I suppose but only looks good now and again, and that's a division lower.
This is a classic Eddie signing. We've seen first hand how good this kid is, and if anyone can get him anywhere near the performance he put in against us at Dean Court, we have a very good, young player on our books with huge ability and potential. He's quick, he's fast... and he's got pace. I think this will compliment the way we play (pacey attacking line). He won't cost too much either I imagine. 3 year deal for a proven Championship player with Prem potential. Shrewd business again from Eddie.
Atsu on loan is a bit of a coup considering there were also several clubs after him. I thought Bournemouth would just concentrate on building infrastructure, but the signings so far don't look like a side resigned to relegation.
Typical Eddie. Our transfer dealings are impeccable. And over within 3 days. It's quite simple really. Day 1: A link is revealed out of the blue by a local news source. Day 2: Player signs but nothing is announced by the club. Day 3: Club announce signing, everyone is shocked... How many times have we seen this over the years (of Eddie) as Bournemouth fans. It is this reason I am absolutely certain we were never really in for Demari Gray, it was all media talk.
WBArgo, was quoting probably one of the best things on the internet, fast forward 03:56 for said reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfQarImZ97Y Regarding Atsu - happy with this. Direct competition for Pughy and offers us more pace. Lets see if Eddie can get the best out of him. Now.. who's going to have a go at our front 6 prediction or the first game!
Delighted with our business. Of course Austin would have been incredible but it was always a pipe dream. Still linked with Glenn Murray but I think we are done now, 2 players for every position.
Still think we will do something surprising. Eddie is known for throwing a curve ball out of nowhere. Kermorgant, Kenwyne etc..
