Those of you who participated in the original version 2 years ago will be familiar with the concept of this draft. Basically, you can pick any player you wish in the history of professional football (subject to the rules set out below), but you must also link that player to one of the clubs he has played for, and he will be evaluated solely on the basis of his career with that particular club. For example, if you choose Titus Bramble (Newcastle), you will not get the benefit of his years as a stalwart at the heart of Wigan's defence.

    DRAFT RULES
    1. Standard snake draft format with 4-hour pick windows. Deadlines will be frozen from 12 midnight to 8 AM depending on your timezone.

    2. You will pick a 14-man squad consisting of a starting XI and 3 subs. Your squad will contain only one goalkeeper.

    3. Each club you choose may be represented no more than once in your squad.

    4. There will be only one version of each player. For example, if Joga picks Titus Bramble (Wigan), no-one else will be able to pick any version of Bramble.

    5. A minimum of 100 competitive games (all competitions) for the chosen club is required for each player.

    6. Please state which club you are linking your player to when you pick him.

    7. After the draft we will have a tournament involving player steals (see rules below).

    TOURNAMENT RULES
    1. The tournament will begin with a group stage with four groups of four teams each, followed by a knockout stage contested by the top two teams in each group. Each team will play the other three teams once.

    2. Group games will be decided by voting from the remaining managers (excluding the other two managers in the group itself). The options will be "Team A" win, "Team B" win, or draw. Whichever option receives the most votes will be taken as the result of the match. If two options are tied for the most votes, then a draw will be the outcome. Three points will be awarded for a win and one for a draw.

    3. You will be required to use all of your substitutes over the course of the group stage. You must use at least one unique sub in each of the first two group games.

    4. All managers most vote on all matches outside of their group on a given matchday. Failure to do so during the one-day voting period will result in a one point deduction.

    5. Prior to the knockout round, the top two teams in each group will have the opportunity to steal a player from each of the two eliminated teams in that group. However, your starting lineup after steals must maintain the one player per club rule.

    6. Knockout matches will be decided by voting from the remaining managers. The options will be "Team A" win or "Team B" win. The first team to receive six votes will advance to the next round. That team will also have the opportunity to steal one player from the losing team, again maintaining the one player per club rule.

It is a fact that the person who drafts first in the draft order is always (a) never online (b) doesn't live in the UK (c) will pick one of two players.

    I don't know whose reaction I found the funniest: Bramble's, Sir Bobby's or the Newcastle fan's... :D

Can I leave a list of picks with someone incase it comes up to my go?

Battery is running low and I'm not in the UK until 10/11am tomorrow.

Send it to me. And remember to give the selected club for each pick.

Based on the position of where I am in the list, I can roughly predict which 6 players are going to go before it gets to me.
