The Genius of Pep - Piece I came across today I thought i'd share. Sorry if that is against the rules.
It's obvious you only support man city because they win trophies. Should be supporting your local team or at least at team in your country.
Genuine question, i swear this isn't a wind up. I haven't really been watching that much of you lot lately, not since we last played in the league cup if i'm honest. Is Pep struggling? I watched the BBC interview this morning and he looks very agitated, said he's nearing the end of his career already. Is it reflecting on the pitch?
Gripe is upset that not every team in the league plays positive football and continues to take digs at the premier league despite the fact he is struggling more so than he ever did at Barca or Bayern. Bellend also claimed City are the 'Spanish Villarreal' and us and Liverpool are the top clubs they have to catch. Never knew Villareal were capable of spending 160Mill in a transfer window... Kinell. And judging by his recent interview, the man as lost the plot.
A lot of managers have had tetchy post-match interviews, he had a mic thrust in front of him less than half-an-hour after the match finished. With hindsight, he probably realises he's a bit wrong on the big decisions, but in his defense, Mason was ****ing horrific all game. Although, I find it hilarious that this constitutes "losing the plot". He probably feels that his past record should buy him a little bit more time, rather than having his methods questioned already. He's said he came here for the challenge, that he needs to learn about and adapt to English football and I have the utmost confidence that he will. As for reflecting on the pitch? Dunno. We've had a poor December, with 2 of our worst 3 performances (Leicester and Liverpool) being last month. We've also been a bit unlucky. The results against Everton, Boro, and Chelsea could (and should) all have been victories, which would have put us in a much stronger position - top of the league in fact. 2 missed penalties against Everton, a last-minute equaliser against Boro in a game where we had 25 attempts at goal, and then hitting the crossbar against Chelsea which would have made it 2-0 and possibly sealed the game. Fine margins. I'm certainly not worried.
"Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy, 22, is set to enter negotiations with Manchester City about a move to coach Pep Guardiola's side." From BBC site. Either Pepsi's on his way - or, another fine example of a 16 year old BBC staffer with limited knowledge of English.
Fellow City fans. I don't understand this record we achieved against Huddersfield. I seemed to read it has we haven't come behind from 1-0 down to win 2-1 away from home since 1995. Yet I can remember one or times where we have done this relatively recently. Can someone clear it up?
So what's this I read that pep is under investigation and may find himself in some serious legal trouble?
Manchester City must 'work harder, play better and pray' to close gap on Liverpool, says boss Pep Guardiola I always think it shows a managers true qualities when he apportions a large share of the blame on himself.
This week, Guardiola underlined his view, saying: “I won because I had extraordinary players at big clubs. The incredible managers don't have these players. They don't have these clubs. “I'm a good manager, but not the best. Give me a team not like Manchester City and I'm not going to win.” I applaud his almost brutal honesty, tbf its a breath of fresh air given how the media spotlight is fixed on him right now.
Latest Guardiola press conference “Listen, when Liverpool in the 70s or 80s (were winning trophies) who spent more money? Was it Norwich? Did Norwich spend more money in that period? “Did Leicester spend more money? No, they Liverpool spend more money than the other ones. But the money then is completely different than now.” Asked to elaborate, Guardiola added: “I say I’m going to change that. So when we put here (on the shirt) Etihad... ’oh, it’s overpaid’. But now United and Liverpool or whatever is going to pay maybe more because they deserve it, maybe they are working well, because the CEO negotiates well, because whatever happened. “Then more? Because it’s from the United States of America or another country where the owners are. So now it’s perfect. So that’s why it’s not going to change for a long time, it’s not going to change, that is the reality. The only way we can change is doing well on the pitch.” "For the people it’s just money, okay, if you want to think about that, think about that," said Guardiola. "I know exactly what I’m working for here and I say ‘okay, don’t give me credit, don’t give us credit but let us give ourselves credit'." . "I saw a documentary on Liverpool on Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan, about the history in the Champions League and the way they have done, the last one with Jurgen," he said. "You see the documentary and you understand completely what Liverpool have done in world football and this country, and the people follow more Liverpool than us in the minute as well. This is obvious. "I'm not saying we are better or worse than the other clubs. It's absolutely normal. I say that's why my quote is to defend my players. It looks like everything in world football starts and finishes with the Champions League. The Champions League is massively important, it's a dream for us. We will not reach it (this season), next season we are going to try. With me, without me, these players and other players in the future as long as the owners we have in Abu Dhabi sustain the ideas of the club, it's going to continue. "Liverpool have much much more leagues than us before in the 1970s and 80s, they won a lot alongside United. But in the Premier League they've only won once. That means when I give credit to my players, it's not to underestimate Liverpool because in the last three or four years they Liverpool could have won the same leagues we have won because the margin was incredibly tight. But it shows how difficult the Premier League is. But it looks like the Premier League doesn't matter because it's just the Champions League." The mans f*cking demented
“I’m sure my English isn’t good after four, five years,” said Guardiola (via the Manchester Evening News). “I said in the time you arrive in the titles, the teams with more history have more supporters. It happens in Spain and Germany and Italy. “We are outsiders in the last decade. In that moment, of course people don’t want Liverpool or us to win. “Liverpool fans want to win, I’m not saying all the country are Liverpool fans but in general they are a team with more titles. “Maybe I’m wrong, but in countries all around the world there are two, three teams people support more than the other ones. “Liverpool, [Manchester] United, Arsenal have a lot of history, we are new. How many times we arrive in this history? Brighton, Paul Dickov, I don’t think so. It’s not much. “It’s why we feel it’s a privilege and won’t waste this opportunity to enjoy the 95 minutes.”
