In my opinion the board were partly concerned that early bird renewals would be down on last season if MM was left in charge until the end of the season. I'm afraid it's had an adverse affect with me and i've totally lost all faith in the board. They should of at least given him the opportunity again to try and keep us up. Whether he would have or not they should have sacked him then.
I could actually see the board buying this to be honest. The ticket prices at football have been above the rate of inflation for years now. Attendances across the board are dropping and will continue to do so with the exception of the Uniteds/Liverpools and Arsenals where supply will always outstrip demand, likewise clubs like Swansea/Blackpool/QPR who haven't had top flight football or at least not for a very long time where the novelty will encourage more. The middle of the road clubs like Everton/Villa/Fulham will also feel a fall in attendances, clubs such as ourselves, Wigan, Blackburn people simply won't or can't afford to pay anymore when they know their too good for relegation and never good enough for a domestic cup or Europe, or the lower clubs especially when 7 out of 10 games they end up on the losing side. Wolves will NEVER believe that their pricing strategies are too high instead they'll blame any and every excuse they can think of; Albanian set top boxes in pubs being the prime example. Even if we get a new manager in and win 10 of our last 13 games we would still face a fall in attendances next year because pricing is. too. high. Full stop.
The problem is Moxey has been asked the question regarding pricing at fans parliments and he just trots out the line "our tickets are competitively priced" - they're not though, they're the most expensive round here. Possibly competitive taking into account London clubs. Wolves have always been shit with these things, how many times have we seen Albion fans be given free travel to away games? Never happened here. A bloke at work reckons last season you could get a season ticket in the North Stand at Villa for £271.
