The Selection Draft (1994 - 2014) In this draft game you have to build a team, with each player satisfying one of the following categories: Category 1 - Has played for only one club Category 2 - Has played domestic football in three or more countries Category 3 - Has over 100 International Caps Category 4 - Was part of a promotion winning team Category 5 - Was part of a team that got relegated Category 6 - Has been the top scorer in a top division Category 7 - Has won the FA Cup Category 8 - Has never played at the World Cup Category 9 - Has played in a Champions League Final Category 10 - Has played in a World Cup Final Category 11 - Has scored at a World Cup 11 players, 11 different categories. We will pick our players in a snake-draft format. You can choose each category in any order you want, but you must pick one player for each category. We will be drafting footballers who played between 1994 and 2014 (seasons 1993-94 to 2013-14). When we evaluate our players it will be based on their performances from 1994-2014 too. However, the category may apply to years before 1994. E.g Category 10: I could choose a player who played in the 1990 World Cup Final. Draft Rules 1. Once the first pick has been made, the next manager has a maximum of 12 HOURS to make his pick. If the 12 hour deadline expires, the next manager in the draft order can make his pick. 2. If you think you will be away for over 12 hours remember to leave someone your shortlist to post for you. 3. Once you have made your pick, please Private Message the manager who follows you in the Draft Order. 4. You must draft a goalkeeper! Choose a sensible formation and build a balanced team. 5. DO NOT name unpicked players! Repeat offenders will miss their go. Category rules Category 1 - Has played for only one club A player who has played for only one club* (at least one appearance). *The following would not count as clubs: non-league, reserves, u-21, 'B' teams, regional, county, charity, conference feeder and testimonial teams. Regarding a loan spell: if we take Everton's Ross Barkley as an example, he has played games for Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United on loan. This would disqualify him as one-club player. Category 2 - Has played domestic football in three or more countries Has played for a football team in three different countries. E.g Cristiano Ronaldo has played in Portugal, England and Spain. Category 3 - Has over 100 International Caps A player that has played for his country more than 100 times (competitive or friendly). Category 4 - Was part of a promotion winning team Played for a team who won a 'points promotion' in any league division of any country. 'Loaned-in' players are included. 'Loaned-out' players are not included. Category 5 - Was part of a team that got relegated Played for a team who were relegated in any league division of any country. Meaning a 'points' relegation - and not where a team were forcibly demoted. 'Loaned-in' players are included. 'Loaned-out' players are not included. Category 6 - Has been the top scorer in a top division The player who scored the most goals in the top tier/division of any country. Examples include: Italy - Serie A Spain - La Liga England - Premier League Germany - Fußball-Bundesliga Portugal - Primeira Liga France - Ligue 1 Scotland - Scottish Premier League Brazil... Russia... Peru... Latvia... Category 7 - Has won the FA Cup Won the F.A Cup with his club. We will accept players who missed the final but have a FA Cup medal. Category 8 - Has never played at the World Cup Has never played* a game at a World Cup. *A player might have travelled with a World Cup squad but never actually played actual minutes at the tournament. Category 9 - Has played in a Champions League Final Has played actual minutes in a Champions League Final. It was the European Cup before 1993. Category 10 - Has played in a World Cup Final Has played actual minutes at a World Cup Final. Category 11 - Has scored at a World Cup Has scored a goal at a World Cup. Own goals do not count. Penalty shoot-outs do not count. Note to all: if you choose to play, please be active over the next month. Two managers can team up if they like.
If anyone came in the Top 5 in any of the two previous drafts they have automatically qualified for this draft. If anyone did not submit their votes in the Current World Draft and wanted to play, they will put in the Backup List. Obviously it's a first-come-basis, but it is fair if we see a few new faces (who will be active posters over the next month or two). Note: when we start drafting, there'll be a 12 hour pick deadline. Please say now if this will be a problem for anyone.
It's like being invited to some s***** party getting the automatic qualification Edit: so s-wan-k-ee is rude now...
