I'm about to put Carrow Road in my list and for me it's down to atmosphere. I've been to Ipswich when you've been beating us 3-0 and you barely sing. It's a bigger capacity and that really is about it. My list: Molineux Anfield The Den Deepdale Hillsboro Elland Road The Stadium of Light Villa Park Old Trafford Carrow Road Cardiff City Stadium The Britannia St. James Park (Jawdies) St. Andrews Emirates Ashton Gate White Hart Lane The Valley Goodison Park The City Ground
Aye Portman Road doesn't really lend itself to an atmosphere. We couldnt hear a peep from anywhere the day we got dicked 6-0..Every time Ive been to Carrow Road its been pretty loud.
Pleased to see this, It was a great ground in a great location. Nice to see it remembered by others who are not Brighton fans. Made my day
Old Trafford Emirates SJP Anfield Stamford Bridge Villa Park Goodison Park Stadium of Light Bramall Lane City Of Manchester Stadium White Hart Lane Upton Park City Ground Deepdale Molineux Elland Road Britannia Stadium Loftus Road Valley Parade Craven Cottage OR Hillsborough.
I did, and I liked it. I probably didn't put it in there because we lost and I'm bitter. It's strange, from the outside you wouldn't have a clue that it's a football ground. Quite unique in that way. F*ck it, you've sold it to me, get Bramall Lane in there instead of Hawthorns, 'cus I've never been to West Brom.
From the back of the away end I can see your reasoning, but behind the Kop and other stands it looks like most other grounds.
Best new grounds I have seen are cov, man city & arsenal. Best old white hart lane. den also good for a small club just a shame fans are not allowed into lower tier.
Without saying our own I'll have to say my favourite new ground is the KC, Not a dull simple bowl, got stuff going on around it, set in a nice park setting. Shame about the town.
Anybody recommend some unique grounds to visit in the England that aren't Premier League and are a bit less known? I'm coming over next year and I want to go to some games as a neutral in random places.
Well if you're looking for unique then Fratton Park or Selhurst Park are historic stadia to go to and Fratton Park may not be around for much longer so could be a good one. As for a new stadium, then the AMEX has gained huge credit in its first season and next season there's the possibility of new seats being added and so could be even better.
I think certain people replying in this thread must have only been to about 25 grounds based on some of these Top 20 lists! Pride Park is shiny plastic bowl, in the middle of a business park. Sure, some people like grounds like that, and that's fine.... but when the same people also chose old-fashioned grounds like Oakwell / Hillsborough, then I don't understand what their criteria are!?
My top 20 would be - Elland Road Anfield Hillsbrough Upton Park Villa Park Kenilworth Road. Bramall Lane The Valley Goodison Park Galpharm Stadium The County Ground St Mary's Molineux White Hart Lane. City of Manchester Emirates Valley Parade St James Park Carrow Road Portman Road Fratton Park
