We need consistency from the referees.

Power has been let off for his wild boot at Ryan Jack
McGinn has been let off for his elbow.
McGregor has been offered a two match ban (which i agree with)
As do i agree with McKenna & Morelos, their bans are justified.

Then you get that Hibs player that has his yellow updated to a red..

And that is only one week of Scottish football.

McGregor was offered a ban which is justified.. but if they are looking to ban him, surely they need to do the same with Power and McGinn. All challenges that were made endangered their opponent.

You can't make decisions for some incidents and turn a blind eye to others.

    They are consistent though.

They consistently let players off with kicking others. I expect McGregor to be over turned aswel.

Scottish football needs ripped apart from top to bottom but clubs have to much self interest to make the changes.

They set the tone on the very first day of the season when they rescinded Morelos's blatant kick out at McKenna, i'm not talking about clubs here but that decision set a precedent where our game is basically a free for all now. I agree that Power and McGinn should have been done. Power would have been out the game against us at the weekend but was let off, McGinn was also very lucky guy.

They are making it up as they go along and there needs to be a complete clear out at the SFA from the top brass to the incompetents refereeing our games. Lets not forget that all these blatant incidents have been missed by the so called referees.

Don't you think that reducing that particular red to a yellow was correct after 'review' ? If you watch the pair of them (Morelos & McKenna) they were walking close to each other and nothing was happening then McKenna deliberately barges into Morelos looking for a reaction but gets none. Couple of seconds later McKenna does the same again and this time Morelos stupidly flicks out his foot and catches McKenna's leg. McKenna's probably thinking 'Job Done' The linesman is looking at them and must have seen the full incident. No serious foul play or violent conduct imo. For the record, I agree with the red Morelos got last Wednesday....idiotic in the extreme again!

Regardless of McKennas part you can't kick out at someone off the ball and I don't think it was a 'flick' it was a kick and a lash out by Morelos. I think it's a stonewall sending off. Anywhere else in the world that is a sending off and for it to be reviewed by ex referees and still rescinded was unbelievable. . .or not as it's Scotland.

Never a lash out and a kick....Christ there was hardly anything in it & certainly wasn't serious foul play.

Of course it was a kick. Also the ball isn't in the equation.

What I said was there was no 'Lash out & kick'. It was a flick out with his foot (kick) which connected slightly with McKenna's leg. You're surely not trying to say it was serious foul play ? And you're correct it was 'off the ball'....that kind of incident wouldn't have happened otherwise.

I'm saying Morelos kicked him off the ball.

A red card all day long.

He struck McKenna and even if he had totally missed it's still an offence if the intent is there.

He's a lucky guy, if that hadn't been rescinded he wouldn't be kicking a ball in anger the entire month of February after his latest.

Yep, I agree it's an offence but punishable by a yellow at most as it wasn't 'Serious Foul Play'. That's my point.

    McGregor banned, the correct decision.

It looks like with the rulings in McGregor and Morelos it's a three strikes and out rule so Power and McGinn have another free hit before they rightly get banned.

If it's consistency you want, that would be it.

He's lashed out and kicked him off the ball with the play on the other side of the park.

As clear a red as you'll see. [IMG]

Well you're lashed out is my flick out. Never serious foul play or violent conduct (excessive force or brutality) which is required for a red to be shown. We're simply going round in circles here as neither will change their opinion.

    Edited this photo in.

You telling me this isn't lashing out or kicking a player off the ball?

It is excessive force, the wording in that is what gets people all hung up.. Excessive doesn't mean really hard, it means more than the necessary amount needed, now considering there was no necessary amount of force needed as there was no reason to kick out then it's excessive by the very act.

I'm saying it isn't lashing out. That is obviously a still photo....the video is clearer, a split second, Mckenna doesn't react (his job is done because he got the reaction), doesn't appeal for anything.

With all due respect CS.....that's only you're opinion. I'm simply going by the rule wording & my definition of Excessive is going over the score so to speak. Perhaps if it was actually worded clearer then it would be simpler to finalise.

As I said LL we're simply going round in circles.

Of course it's a split second, it only takes a split second to lash out and kick someone.

McKenna is irrelevant to the point being made here about the actions of Morelos.

With what excess should you kick someone off the ball.

It's a deflection, you can be done for the intent alone. Morelos connected and wasn't done only for the intent though.

You'll need to ask Alexa for that one....;)

No deflection whatsoever mate. Nothing (that I can find in the rules) mentioning intent.

It's there but is irrelevant to this incident anyway as Morelos connected.

On another note, every time he lashes out and has been done it's either from the back, a kick, a stamp or the player is grounded..

Anyway you're right going round in circles and you're never going to admit you're wrong :)
