Anyone on here shoot weddings? I've got one lined up this weekend, never done one before. In fact I've never done anything other than take pictures for my own leisure with my camera.

    Any tips?

Remember to get one or two snaps of the bride and groom.

Make sure you get someone (best men/groom) to take charge of the guests otherwise they'll all just bimble of like dopey ****ing sheep.

Pull the groom aside before the ceremony starts and tell him to run away as fast as he can.
    He will be eternally grateful.

Are you the official photographer or just taking some snaps?

What equipment do you have? DSLR and some lenses presumably?

"Official photographer" as in someone I know has given me £100 to take photos. Only 10 guests which is nice and manageable though.

Got a Canon 550D with kit lens, a 50mm fixed and a 75-200mm zoom. Have a tripod also

Do you have a decent flash? The problem with kit lenses and the cheaper zooms (aside from the optical quality) is that they aren't typically very fast, which makes indoor and low light shots tricky.

If the 50mm is the Canon f1.8 "nifty fifty", then that will give you good indoor shooting capability, but 50mm on a crop body means you won't be taking any wide angle shots. Then again if you have space and use your legs as the zoom then it could work great.

Getting paid to do it adds a bit of pressure, even if its only a 100 quid. Are you providing prints for that cost or just files?

Just files. Touched them all up in photoshop too so the couple can have them all and do as they please really.

Think an external flash is next on my wishlist.
