Could have easily won that, had the chances. Still though, great performance and you’d have taken a point beforehand. So close.

Bar an absolute meltdown that's us sorted for the playoffs. Safe to say the relegation thread will be the more interesting read next weekend.

Weeks ago? We checked out back in January  Didn’t watch the Millwall game or today and by all accounts I’ve missed f*ck all.

Strangely looking forward to the game against Wednesday at the weekend though. It’s a tad exciting that we’re involved in some last day drama.

    Wow what a league
Probably the best result for us as it means we have a chance of winning it on Monday although I still want Ipswich to join us next season.

Great game. Fair result, maybe Ipswich edged it a bit more but it was fine margins. Missed a sitter and conceded two great Ipswich goals. Both teams sloppy at the back.

Ohio doing his best Gedo impression to keep us in it. Only a win and hope Preston aren't too comfortable at the beach. Bringing it to the final day is excellent.

Some of the defending, blimey. Two soft goals for us to give away. Two similar sides I think, good to watch. Thought your manager spoke well afterwards, both him and McKenna are great prospects. Good player too.

Hope you get the job done. Incredible season against all the odds, although if we sneak into 6th I am not sure I can handle a two-leg play off tie against Leeds...

Safe to say I could do without two legs against that mob up the road also. Didn’t go too well the last time. If will be about 9-7 if we play you lot, could be entertaining at least.

They were like that against us last week. We played well and helped to make them look bad but there was such a lack of intensity considering it was such a huge match for both teams and they'd have been practically safe with a win. And obviously the Schumacher factor. Weird considering they'd been in good form prior to that and just beaten Leicester. Maybe they left it all out there in that match and they've got nothing left?

Thanks. Ahh Jumping Jaks, plenty of memories of that place .

It's such a shame. In the 90s and 2000s Hanley was genuinely a really good night out. Quite well renowned for a while, people would travel from other cities to come here particularly for Golden which had big name international DJs playing like Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules etc. The bars and clubs were great and always packed. Now it's completely gone to the dogs in ways you wouldn't believe if you can remember the Jumping Jaks days.

Hanley is an absolute ghost town overrun with smack heads everywhere, boarded up shops and endless to let signs. The nightlife has totally disappeared, even Walkabout and Chicago Rock have shut down now. There's literally nothing, Reflex is the last chain place left now and that's apparently close to shutting too. Jaks has gone, it's horrendous. I know most city centres have declined over the last decade and particularly sharply since covid but Hanley is on another level and it's a constant source of local debate over how it's been allowed to decline so far, so fast and how on earth we go about fixing the seemingly insurmountable list of problems. It needs more money pouring into it than would ever be possible to raise unfortunately. And it's reputation has sank so low that anyone in the city with disposable income avoids it and goes to other places so the only people who go there are people from the lowest rungs of society who can't afford to drive to other places or get a train out of the city and have to catch the bus. Which obviously perpetuates the downward cycle and influences the plethora of cheap bargain and vape shops which are becoming the only things left.

You've listed one of our standout low moments from our time in League One, the 2-0 defeat when you had 9 men. It was an absolutely shameful performance and just epitomised the mess we were in at the time. Millwall games do tend to stand out for me too though from that era. We were usually among the leading teams so there tended to be something riding on the result and the atmosphere was always tense. I remember Neil Harris scoring an absolute cracker at the Britannia one year. Think you might have been top of the league and beat us.

I've got good memories of League One in the early 90s when we had Lou Macari as manager and Mark Stein up front. We won the title in 92/93 and had a really good, exciting team. The late 90s/early 2000s spell though was a really hard slog where it constantly felt like we were treading through quicksand and the harder we tried, the further we seemed to get from the prize. When we finally went up it was an absolute relief from 4 years of purgatory and feeling like the club was slowly dying. I don't fancy going back down there again because after the mess we made of the Premier League relegation I have no confidence that we'd bounce back quickly and be able to use it as a reset. Hopefully the shock of this struggle will shake us out of the bottom half complacency we'd settled into and give us the kick up the arse to get moving forward again. I'm not expecting promotion, we've fallen too far to turn around that quickly. But would top half be too much to ask after 6 consecutive bottom half finishes?

Draw a really good result for Ipswich to be fair. If I'm McKenna, 11 men behind the ball at Cov then go for it against Hudds tbh

Goes to last game for us

A draw at home to Preston will take us over the line

    I have 0% confidence. 1-0 Preston

Haha, absolutely zero chance we get anything against Leicester or West Brom. This lot are completely done for this season. Wasters.

I don't know if you've seen us defend that much but our usual tactic is we need to score more than the opposition because we can't really defend

That is fair but I'm a firm believer that any team can defend if they just chuck 11 men behind the ball

But yeah I doubt you'd do that and it does come with risks of its own. Hopefully for you lot, you beat Coventry in mid-week

I don’t think it’s so much that we can’t defend, we just don’t want to  At least one fullback is always very, very high, Woolfenden steps up from centre half, the keeper plays football, the defence is a part of our attacking game. It is a bit bonkers but it generally works. Takes some getting used to as a punter. In 2 1/2 seasons I’ve never seen us remotely sit back. Even stranger as I think KM was a specialist defensive coach at Man Utd..

Robbie Brady likes us. Have him start!
Should probably bench Will Keane though.
