Amazing news they’re back (despite the money spent) - a proper football league club with a good fanbase. A long route back. Congratulations!
Yeah congratulations Stockport. Think they had to go part time at one point in their lowest days in the National League North? So they've really been through the mill and it's great to see them back in the Football League. Anyone but Solihull from the playoffs will do for me.
11 year break , fair play . 1 Greater Manchester team gone ( OAFC ) 1 back which will please Dale & Salford
They are hardly a Fleetwood or Forest Green though. Going up would be a remarkable achievement given the amount of so called big clubs in that league
It’s a shame our club are such a shambles. Stockport has the potential to be a great away day for us, direct train 1 hour 10 minutes and a short walk to the stadium. Unfortunately won’t be going until our board sort their shit out
It really wouldn’t be they have a huge budget, in the Summer a player chose them over us because the money he was offered was more than any of our players are on here, and we have a very big budget. I get what you’re saying about Roy of the Rovers given their size but when you’re chucking huge amounts at it then it really is no fairytale should they make it.
Happy with Stockport although they’ll probably be taking one of the promotion spots next season. Halifax going up would be a much better achievement than Solihull doing it, so fingers crossed they can join them.
Yeah, Halifax are the ones for whom it would be a massive achievement and genuine fairytale stuff. Nothing against Solihull particularly but they very much are another Forest Green or Fleetwood.
Hey guys another Stockport fan here it's nice to be back, 2 days and I'm still beaming from ear to ear and it'll be nice to be competing with teams with no car parks you can see outside the stadium (e.g Needham Market), no FA qualifying round, no FC United, no Stalybridge, no tinpot teams to be travelling to and such but we're back baby!!!
Well played the Hatters, looked like they'd bottled it for a while there but ultimately won the League comfortably.
