I've not got a big problem with TB. I'm just disappointed that he's f*cking it up because he hasn't managed to extract himself from the day-to-day responsibilities and need to extract income from the other place. He needed to either dispose of it or step back. He's clearly not a people person and has a personality that gets little enjoyment out of running and interacting with a forum like this (and that). He's laid bare his issues often enough. I've also not got a problem with the concept of "cash cow," (or "star," "problem child" and "dog" in the old Boston Matrix, which has been around since last century) in setting priorities for time and resources in running a portfolio of businesses. I used to be in business consultancy. However, as Gerald Ratner learned, it's not wise to suggest that you consider your punters as simply an idiot source of profit. There are a particular set of skills to sustainably managing a herd, especially when it's a herd of cats not cows. If it gets sorted, I may drift back. I see it as no different to falling out with the landlord at your favourite local and trying the community pub in the next village. So I'll just settle in the corner of the L2 Snug and occasionally potter out to interact with the cool guys in the Off Topic Function Room.
