Apologies for the Mail link but it's the only place that's done this, basically a list of who can spend what when FFP is taken into account. It's a pretty depressing read - especially if you're Everton, Saints or Villa - and basically just confirms how one sided the premier league is and what a missed opportunity the European Super League was How much each Premier League club can spend on transfers under FFP rules | Daily Mail Online
I do remember you seemingly had a conveyor belt of youth talent a while ago. I'm not even going to pretend that I know who the last player to come through was.
From a Palace point of view this is why we desperately needed to sign some players with sell-on value in the summer. Thankfully we have a fair few of them now.
Everton? They've had over a £300m net spend in the last five years. Why should we feel sorry for them when they've ****ed up their recruitment? I get the point you're making but some examples do not have my sympathy.
Farcical really. United can spend that amount despite the Glazer scum having already loaded over £500 million in debt on the club, and despite the fact that almost all further spending would be financed by even more borrowing.
I have read the article. Everton can't spend as much over the next few years due to FFP. But they had fairly free spending for the last five years (£300m net) and couldn't capitalise on it. Why should we feel sorry for them?
No one said you should, I just said it doesn’t make pretty reading for them. You’re being a din and spouting off as usual Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why is it grim? They gambled, ****ed up and are now being 'punished' for it What should happen? Should they be allowed to carry on spending even more money, ****ing it up even more and potentially putting the existence of the club at risk? They've not ran themselves properly. I fail to see where the 'grimness' is here.
What (excellent) articles like this can do is inflate the transfer market even more. Everyone who didn't know already now knows that especially Newcastle and in theory Spurs have money to burn. Newcastle's permitted spend will rocket as they sign the usual Man city style bent 'sponsorship' deals with companies already owned by their owners, with the usual absurdly inflated figures.
Read this earlier today. Pretty ****ing grim reading for Saints fans seeing as though we really haven't gone on a big spending spree like Villa and Everton have. FFP has done exactly what we all said it would when it was first proposed. Keeps the rich clubs at the top and gives the smaller clubs next to no chance of competing at the top.
surprised we only have £75m to spend according to FFP given some of the fees we have brought in over the last few years
I find it silly that it's over 3 seasons. At least make it 5 seasons like the coefficient. Spending, in many cases, probably has a direct link to appearances in Euorpe.
Its strange isnt it, the old saying is "Time flies when you're having fun" yet I find its the total opposite. last 18 months have been my (and Im sure everyone elses) most depressing, boring, inactive 18 months in my entire life yet bizarrely its flew over
