Watched a fair few movies recently.

Saw. Started off quite well, getting you into the movie straight away but in the main the acting was poor (and so was the snide copy I had picked up) meaning it was all a bit comical when really you were supposed to be shitting yourself. The idea was pretty original, and there's a few twists and turns as it comes to the end. Really, I think I should have seen it at the cinema. All in all though, a half decent watch, 6/10.

Bruce Almighty. I used to be a big Jim Carey fan back in the day. Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber are two of my favourite films but I found this rather rubbish and wishing Carey would leave the facial expressions and 'alrighty thens' behind. I think I only laughed once... 2/10.

Is Harry on the boat? Ibiza, club reps, drugs, sexs, you know, all that kinda shit. British movie with Danny Dyer, what seemed like half of the old Hollyoaks cast and various 'guest' apperances (that page 3 bird Jakki in there). Funny in places, again, more wooden acting, not bad overall. 5/10.

Next up, House of the Flying Daggers, also a dodgy copy which I'm hoping won't spoil it.

    what i've watchedd recently...

    on Staurday night i watched 8 1/2....

i thought it was very good, i really enjoyed it. But iwas a bit sad cos i had it out from the library. I might get it again cos i think i would like to watch it some more to figure things out.

i give it 8 quavers of 10. with potential to rise to a full packet if i see it again.

on the ohter day i half watched The Green mile again on channel 4. it was still shit.

    I give it 2 Wotsits.

last week i watched Festern (aka The Celebration)

i saw this a long time ago on channel 4 and was worried that it would noy be as good as i remember, But it was, i really liked this too.

i award this film 8 BBQ ffalvour walkers crips.

yesterday night/this morning i watched Trash

the Andy Warhol one. I didn't like this very much at all. I felt very depressed indeed, and have made a mental note never to do heroin anymore. I give it 3 Pringles dippers and a half a sausedge roll.

Donnie Darko: Seen it about 10 times now and still don't fully understand it. Decent enough film though. 8/10

King Arthur: A decent enough film if it wasn't about King Arthur. 5/10

The Untouchables - Decent enough gangster film about the battle to pin corruption charges on Al Capone.

Another role for Sean Connery but he gets blown away

    Signs - 8/10

Pretty good film, keeps suspense going and comes together nicely at the end (even if it is a little cheesy). Wont say what the downside is as i dont want to spoil it for people who havent seen it.

    The Last Samaurai - 8/10

Very good film with the ol cruiser doing pretty well. Again the ending was a little cheesy and far fetched but overall good viewing.

    Collateral - 9/10

Very good film, the cruiser is excellent as the not so nice guy. Jamie Fox is excellent too. Mann has made another stylish and absorbing film. A bit of a coincidence at the beginning of the film is the only bit that made me go mmmmmmmmm (and not in a good way). GO AND SEE IT.

    Day after tomorrow - 7/10

Big block buster with limited story line and lots of special effects. More cheese than a dominos double cheese pizza with extra cheese (got everything here - likeable scientist dieing, Dr staying with dieing child, Father trecking across america to reach son, guy sacrificing himself for others etc). Also just a tad far fetched.
But saying that Dennis Quaid fits the role well and i dunno why but i like it. (even if you dont like this sort of film its worth watching for the special effects).

Alexander - Not bad, too obsessed with the whole "gay" aspect of his life. Otherwise good historical yarn. 6/10

Ray - Great soundtrack (obviously), a bit over- analytical on Ray Charles' psychological problems relating to the death of his brother during his childhood and intensely focused on his heroin addiction. 8/10

Million Dollar Baby - Great movie. Never thought I'd give a fukc about some chick boxer's story. Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman are very good in it and their interaction is what really makes the movie. Hillary Swank's quite fit too...:) 8/10

    Watched a couple this week...

Dodgeball - Poor humour, think I laughed once. Ben Stiller's character keeps playing on the same 'joke' which isn't funny when he keeps repeating what the other person says but tries to twist it. Storyline so predictable and a bit rushed in the end. 2/10

Shark Tale - Not really a big fan of animated stuff as i tend to class it as more for kids. Film wasn't the greatest ever but a decent enough storyline albeit one you've seen before. Will Smith's Oscar character got a tad annoying after a while too as did the gay Shark (jack black). Nicely animated though. 7/10

Loved this film, except the ending which was terrible. They went back on the entire point of the story. Dying in battle for what you believe in was dignified and part of the Samurai way of life.

Film should have ended with Cruise dying on the battle-field with Katsumoto. Instead they added on that extra 10 minutes with Cruise bowing down to the emperior and whatnot. Twas SO sentimental and Hollywood for a film that was refreshingly un-patriotic the rest of the time.

Could have been a classic if they pussied out with the ending.

Trouble - i agree with you . but i also thought it was a little far fetched in that they particularly wanted those two dead and they were the last two left alive. Sack those machine gunners!!!!

I watched 'Trainspotting' on TV again last night, the bit where he disappears down the bog never fails to turns my stomach.

I watched most of that too (trainspotting) when i first watched it i was unimpressed, the more times i see it the more i understand/like it, its a film that needs watching a few times.

Just bought 'band of brothers' the box set dvd, finished re watching all of the series, and found that there were a few episodes with extra scenes compared to the BBC showing, still brilliant veiwing and in my eye the best war movie/ series ever shown on TV.
