Are these the only part on a car that hasn't really been drastically developed?

I've read that there are ships that use specially shaped glass or something like that so they don't need a wiper as it's constantly clear due to the shape.

It's a simple design, apart from the materials used I can't see much room for development really?

When you consider how much rain we get, and at 80mph how much water they have to clear and how quickly, I think it's incredible they last for a couple of years.

Nothing to develop on them. They're just bog standard.

They are good but car manufacturers spend buckets of money making supercars as light as possible then they use wipers maybe they could lose that weight it may make a difference.

You have to remember they're not just to clear the rain. Driving down the motorway the windscreen gets dirty off all the sh*t from other cars in front and the road.

So they need to be there to clean the windscreen whilst driving as well so you can see properly.

I can think of many parts on a car that haven't been developed, if it ain't broke...
