A trip to Molineux tonight, mid-table game which could be free flowing with not much at risk, or could be dull as ditchwater. Last season O’Neil squeaked out a tight win for us up here, and earlier in the season he squeaked out a tight win for Wolves against us at ours. Probably not much to choose between the two sides again but we’ll see!
This will surely be another tight game. Especially with the number of chances we miss every game! It would be nice to get a win, but I fear an uninspiring end of season, like last year.
Looks like we’ve shuffled the pack tonight. A few changes, backup younger keeper is in, perhaps a change of shape as well. Unsure if that’s experimental, rotation, injuries. A chance for Travers and Scott to audition for next season, hope they smash it.
Another VAR decision goes against Wolves . Can see the steam from here coming out of Gary O’Neil’s ears !
Wonder if Sky will get GON back on for another 'tactical masterclass' session. All the refs fault presumably...
For 60 mins that was a highly professional and comfortable away performance, keeping Wolves at arms length. Great, save for the fact we couldn’t finish our dinner. If we were 3 or 4 up they couldn’t have complained but yet again we are our own worst enemy in the final third. Wolves also should have been down to 10 we’d argue, for a kick out but got away with a booking. Then obviously everything turns on that one ball into the box, header goal for an equaliser. VAR intervenes after an absolute age, but I could not see anything wrong with it from our distance and vantage point. Massive let off. No way they disallow that in years gone by. After that Wolves absolutely dominated. Tails up, it’s as if they needed the motivation of being wronged to actually start playing. The crowd woke up, and the ref was doing his best to even it up, if lots of silly fouls could do that. More VAR shenanigans as the half went on. A straight red which I can’t really comment on from our distance but you suspected it would be given. Took an age to confirm the card which was probably unnecessary when both teams wanted to crack on. It became an attack v defence siege training session, and thankfully Wolves didn’t do much of note. One ball in the net that we could see was comfortably offside but even that took an age to check and confirm, again probably unnecessary. But on the whole I was pleasantly surprised with how solid we were despite the makeshift defence. Still heading and kicking everything in the 103rd minute! One thing we could always say about O’Neil was his side didn’t create many chances and what few came had to be taken. That’s transferred to Wolves. But he is also an unlucky General I wonder. Nice to get a result when the season was starting to fizzle out. Lots of character on show today, good effort. Injuries and the suspension to count now but that’s Sunday’s problem.
You mean your player clearly looking at Kluivert and deliberately swinging out him? It's a foul and he got deservedly booked.
You're an absolute fool if you think that's a foul. It's one of the worst decisions I've seen this season and I can't believe I'm saying that so soon after the weekend.
I guess all fans sometimes see what they want to see ! Mind you on MOTD they thought it was the right decision and the red card was harsh so they what do we know .
So players are permitted to two handed push opponents in the back now? cool. You deserved your win, if we'd have got a point on the back of that it wouldn't have been justified but don't let your allegiance lower your intelligence. We were poor, I was glad my stream stopped working 25 minutes in, the writing was on the wall. Bournemouth pressed well and should've been out of sight. I think objectively we'll pick up 1-2 points at most in the final games. We are Curbishley's Charlton.
Would have probably ended 1-1 if the goal had stood, and we’d have been moaning about a classic AFCB performance of not taking our chances etc.
