Read an article earlier blaming men for not just women footballers getting injured more often, but also the fact that they stay injured for longer. Everything is our f*cking fault. Nothing to do with womens muscles, tendons and ligaments being smaller and weaker than mens on average.
boots are designed for men who weight more in general and have different biomechanics when running, things like women don't needs as long studs which then get caught in the grass and are contributing to all the knee injuries. Apparently some of the boot companies as designing some boots especially for women that will be ready for the world cup
They're really not though. Mens and womens football boots are actually different design wise. The footballs have never been lighter than they are now as well, it's not the balls that are causing serious injuries in women's football - it's the inherent physiological differences. I was merely asking if that was the article you were referring too as I looked it up based on your comment. This is an area I am happy to say I'm no expert in but was curious about how men were being blamed. I thought I might have the wrong article tbh.
thrashed Liverpool 4-0 at home yesterday to go up to 10th, Brighton drew later that day to go level on points with us but below on GD and Man City thrashed Reading 4-1 today
Not sure why they announce these kinds of things when it's obviously not true. Thousands and thousands of empty seats. Trouble is they give away so many tickets with no guarantee anyone will show up. Arsenal looking good for reaching the final so far as long as the keeper doesn't cost them. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
I'm well aware, but announcing a sell out when you've given away thousands of tickets that go unused is disingenuous. Arsenal really missing Williamson at the back. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Wow, congrats Wolfsburg Ladies (Wölfinnen ) for reaching another Champions League Final After the 2-2 at home, now a 3-2 win in London with the decider in the 119th minute. That's the 6th CL final for Wolfsburg ( 2 won), only Olympique Lyon has more. Opponent in the final are the Ladies from Barcelona.
FIFA being greedy meaning potentially no Women's World cup coverage in Europe this summer. Surely they have to note any deal for it to be shown is better than nothing at all?: FIFA Threatens to Pull Broadcast of Women’s World Cup in Europe - BNN Bloomberg
Not sure how much leverage Fifa really have here. Going to hurt them far more by not having it televised than it will broadcasters. I'm not sure what viewing figures will be like for a tournament hosted in Australia and New Zealand anyway. Given the kickoff times I doubt I'll get an opportunity to watch too many games and I imagine many Europeans will be in the same boat.
Apparently they got a gate of 60k last night, which is promising for the future of the game. I don't expect to see attendances like that every match, but if gates went up a few more thousand because of the exposure of games like that, it would help immensely. Do they actually get 60% of the ratings the men's game get? I would be suprised if any of the games outside of the final, and the team of whatever country is broadcasting will be the only games with figures near that.
Another key England player out of the World Cup unfortunately. Fran Kirby . Fran Kirby joins England’s World Cup absentee list with surgery pending | England women's football team | The Guardian
Bloody hell. Has any squad ever faced this many key injuries in the run up to a tournament in which they're favourites?
"Sensation" in the Spanish Liga F, Barcelona could only get a 1-1 draw against Sevilla. This ends their consecutive winning streak at 62 wins. Last season they had a perfect season with 30 wins in 30 matches and a GD of 159:11. This season they're now 27-1-0 with 114:8 GD! . Of course they're already Spanish Champions. 62 wins in a row Obviously they played only with a B-team to rest some players for the Women's Champions League Final against VfL Wolfsburg.
