Said it in the Women's football thread but certainly shaping up nicely. Chelsea and Arsenal have the extra game but also have European football to contend with. Chelsea are probably the favourites but you've got United v City and Chelsea v Arsenal on the penultimate weekend so that'll probably be the weekend that the title is decided. Ignoring the fact that they're one of the biggest clubs in the country, the underdog story would probably be United clinching their first title. The club are only five years old so would be good to break up the monopoly that the big two in London have had over the past however many years.
Arsenal have to go to Chelsea and United as well. It's a miracle they've managed to keep going up to now considering they lost their two best players to ACLs injuries within 4 weeks of each other.
and another, Leah Williamson has done her ACL and misses the World Cup in addition to the remaining games in Arsenal's season. Arsenal lost to United during the week too to cap off a pretty miserable week. Looks like the title is probably between United and Chelsea now.
3 in a season is just heartbreaking. Kim Little is out for the season too. Absolutely butchered by injuries.
Very unfortunate for Arsenal. Managed to win a trophy and are still in Europe so it's been an OK campaign but a difficult season when you lose so many top players. In other WSL news, Brighton pulled off a massive win midweek which makes things a little more tense at the bottom. Really could be any of four to go down. Spurs have the best GD which might go in their favour but could ideally do with a win from somewhere.
Proper game tonight between Villa and United, could have gone either way with United pinching it by the odd goal in five in the 93rd minute, after Villa led twice.
Big win. Saw Villa were ahead twice but didn't see the final score until this morning. Other teams still have to play but a decent points gap for United now. Incidentally BBC also did an article about the golden boot, Daly adding two more goals last night will help her cause.
Great result for Leicester, not so good for the other struggling sides. Based on that showing it's probably a good thing that none of the other sides have to play a Liverpool team seemingly on the beach.
Going to be quite a big game in the grand scheme of things for the women's team. Tickets to the women's included with a ticket to the men. Potential for a good crowd. Potential for disillusioned fans of the men's team to follow it up with a relegation for the women's team.
Can't see huge amounts of people hanging around in the stadium for 2 hours unless they wanted to go to the women's game anyway. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Spurs new ground is a pretty good place for it tbh. It's quite a social hub and I think it's the last home game of the season too so people might hang around a bit longer too. I don't think the women's game will have 60k by any means but this probably will boost its attendance.
I did think that after I posted to be fair, I haven't been to Spurs since your last league game at WHL but I've heard the new one is the best stadium in the country. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Was hoping to see the Saints ladies this season but didn't get a chance in the end. Did watch Norway Vs Northern Ireland at St Mary's for the Euro's I appreciate its going to take time but I was hoping we were going to get an increase of the Super League already to 14-16 teams. It still seems a short season with 12.
Seems that United turned down big bids for Russo in January, have left it late to negotiate a new contract and are now losing her on a free. Arsenal the ones to benefit.
Im a Season ticket holder with my son at MCFC women, 2 biggest problems is clashing with men's game and you can go 4 to 5 weeks without a game.
Find it daft that they don't schedule the fixtures better. Quite often left having to pick one or the other with the way the futures go. Particularly for clubs in Europe.
Think the issue is there aren't enough lesser teams at the moment to fill the lower leagues if you increase the amount in the top one.
