It certainly had its moments on both sides. I like new twists but not stupid twists. The turning point was the hodge bomb debacle. At the time hodge was nothing, non confirmed and could have easily been lynched. Then he claimed he had been given a role not even in the game, which then a Mod had to literally come out and confirm to be correct. This added another confirmed Townie to the list and made him untouchable with regards to the Night Kill... There was no room for debate, confusion, whether to trust him or...he was a Townie Bomb. Our biggest mistake was when Saddler Andy was going to be lynched. He was the Suicide Bomber....so he could have killed himself, taken out someone like say TVR last minute, then second in the voting (AJ I believe) would have been lynched. The problem with that was that Andrew changed the phases - which suited everyone apart from the night shift worker and one of the two token yanks. We both completely missed it. Another thing I wasnt a fan off was having to do everything via PM to the Mods. I can understand the need for a paper trail but when you have to make split second decision and change your mind, arseing about with PMs is pointless....and myself and David wouldnt have both changed RMs vote to different people at the same time if it had all been done in the room....and if I hadnt had to arse about with Andrew explain to me RM inbox was full id have got my vote in on time (yes, it was late - I know that) I've run a game - so I know its tough and you will never keep everyone happy. Just a shame looking back, imo the game swung on the two extra powers....the Towns which confirmed hodge and made him untouchable and ours which we didnt use because none of us were online at the time! Would have taken out Eezo sooner if we knew he was going to be replaced, one of those though....if you're Town you want him replaced so someone will at least vote, as Mafia you dont want him replaced because its a person/vote you dont have to worry about.
Even though it wasnt as active as previous games, i still enjoyed it. It had the right balance tempo as some games it goes that fast you spend most of the time reading through what you missed. And by the time you post your thoughts you have a few more to read back on. And within this game, there were very little moments where the gloves were off with members reverting to slagging each other off, or no meltdowns i.e rob etc etc. The mafia couldnt of asked for a better start, but i felt that they did a few things wrong that turned the tide. They should of kept tvr in the game and david did mention me the day before, he could of latched onto tvr in the case for me. But overall, good game lads enjoyed it. 3 out of 5 i figured out in the last few days, 4 if you include me saying ross is mafia in the other thread before the game started but didnt say anything in here
Yeah the whole you must send a pm for everything you do was annoying. I've been mafia in a couple other games and ran one and in all of them if the mafia said something in the chat and told me to do it I did. Sending the PM was annoying because as we both were at work the last couple days with the multiple killings and couldn't do the saddler Andy bomb, we couldn't communicate. There were a couple times we both PM'd the mods different people for the lynchings and the whole vote change. The hodge thing stunk too. If a bomb was going to be added it should've at least been added to the first page before being given that way if people said I don't remember that they would see it was a possible role without having a mod say yes we just added it. Eezo thing screwed us too. OH did very well but when a player goes missing it's part of the game. You can't just add him in on the last day and throw a wrench into everyone's plans. I wanted to express that in the thread but obviously it would've shown I was mafia.
