Looking like that it will be much the same at the upper end of the table,Tns,Gap and Bala so what about the bottom two,do both Caernarfon and Llanelli have enough in the tank ? Barry Town well you never knew and a bit like Llandudno what team was turning up. Both Cefn and The Met look stable mid table as for Aber and Newtown i will leave that with you. Again it looks like a bit of a slog for Carmarthen although i don't like teams staying by default.
The Euro money , which is more this year, will see them through even with Nomads losing Gap as a sponsor , perhaps the Chinese connection will kick in there? TNS with around £1m ought to win, Bala , Druids to make top 4. Met may depend on students who stay or go, Barry should do ok again, we’ll run and funded. Caernarfon will survive and could go top 6, Llandudno with a brand new squad may surprise this time. Newtown,Aber, Carmarthen, Llanelli, bottom 4 in some order for me.
Has anything changed from my earlier thoughts? Not really TNS will have more euro money and win/buy the league Bala have signed well and take 2nd Nomads ought to have enough to come 3rd Druids with some great signings 4th So that’s the 4 clubs with Europe money Barry stable and very strong together and caernarfon a good solid team that will win enough and plenty of goals in them 5 & 6 Met 7th, Aber 8th, Llanelli 9th Bottom 3 Newtown,Carmarthen, Llandudno, The 8 clubs without euro money have all struggled to bring in quality Outside of Cardiff Met who will do ok, the other 7 don’t seem to have a striker who can score them 15 plus. Aber back to basics should be ok, along with promoted Llanelli and a steady but ordinary Newtown Carmarthen got out of gaol last season and Llandudno on paper looked to be strengthening but after flirting with relegation for 2 seasons could go down this time Coming up from tier 2 Flint and Haverfordwest
No real surprises TNS besting Barry bit a higher score than expected Nomads hammering Llanelli again more goals than expected Bala struggles against a resolute Carmarthen who ought to beat others around them Cardiff only just too good for Newtown Caernarfon best a poor Druids in an uninspiring TV game Aber as expected too good for a still misfiring Llandudno needing a striker like a few other sides Too early to say but the signs are there
A couple of trips this weekend Denbigh Friday deservedly beating a very poor Bangor side who look like a bunch of individuals but not a team. Llandudno vNewtown Saturday for a poor goalless game with little entertainment, both sides need a striker desperately I’ll go to watch Bangor v Llandudno in the cup on Tuesday hoping for a decent game
Not the walk in the park for TNS that everybody was expecting this season. Friday nights home loss to Caernarfon means 1 goal and 1 point in 3 games, with Barry to come at Jenner park up next. Has the league got stronger,or TNS levels dropped?Bit of both I suspect. Turning into an interesting season anyway.
Just watching Sgorio, Bala v Caernarfon. Bala should have been about 4 up. Going to be an interesting Title Race this year.
Thoroughly loving being top of the league. Barry have a brilliant squad this year. Southam and Hugh must be two of the best full backs in the league. Still expect TNS to eventually overtake Barry, but it's been a joy to see them in third.
Welsh Cup Draw Llandudno v The New Saints Bala Town v Cardiff Met Barry Town United v Cambrian & Clydach Caernarfon Town v Connah's Quay Nomads Hard to pick a winner from any of those.. Cambrian & Clydach this year's cup specialists. Connah's Quay Nomads for the Cup
Southam-Hales turns pro, moving to Fleetwood Town. I think he's back on loan for the end of the season. Mixed feelings; sad to see a good player go, but good to see a player who improves week on week get rewarded.
Adam Barton signs for Nomads on loan from Dundee United, Big signing considering he was playing for Preston not long ago.
Barry's game abandoned after 15 mins with floodlight failure. At least Sgorio showed the goals from Friday Night whilst they were waiting to see what was going on.
