Feeny gone from Newport, speculation about Trollope at Cardiff, even Guidolin at Swansea seemingly not safe. .What price all of them gone by Christmas. They all need a few positive results, and quick, thats for sure.Thats the modern game for you.
John Askey of Macclesfield favourite at 2/5. Look at the Daily Post online for more alleged contenders.
If Wrexham are after Askey that is bad news for Wrexham fans, surely Macclesfield and Askey run a VERY TIGHT SHIP and Wrexham have treble MTFC Gates and one would think more money ? So why Askey ?
Arthur Askey would do a better job, with the fanbase and money Wrexham should aim for a good, young footballing coach/manager, Harrison might do a decent job there.
Former Wrexham captain Dean Keates appointed manager. Hope he does better than he did as a player at Rhyl last season!
Strange that Chief Executive Don Bircham and Director and ex player Barry Horne stood down just before the announcement yet were involved in the selection process.
I do wonder what is going on behind the scenes, changed pretty much the whole squad in the summer at what cost? and has not got them anywhere. Have they also sold the training ground to fund it al,l chasing the money pot is not a great idea.
Real mess at Wrexham, now bottom of the Conference. Still the second highest attendances in the division, behind Notts County. How have things got this bad? @Taffy
Picking the cheap option time and time again. After Morrell left, we went for Wilkin who was a bit of a Moyes-to-United appointment, did alright with his old club Nuneaton but they a minnow. Sacked him in 2015, opted to replace him with tried and tested bouncer-lookalike Gary Mills, who was also shite and sacked in 2016. After that, we brought ex-captain Dean Keates in, and he did a good job until he was poached by Walsall, leaving us rudderless so close to the end of the season, which we finished 2017-18 with PE Teacher Andy Davies at helm. Then came Ricketts, who was quite good for the couple of months he was with us till he was poached. Then shit hit the fan when we gave his assistant Graham Barrow a 3-year deal, dropping the bombshell he never even wanted the job after resigning. So after searching far and wide, we found ex-Red Bryan Hughes, who's only managerial stint prior to us ended after 2 months at Scarborough. He bottled a strong play-off position and then all together, the writing was on the wall but he was allowed to buy shit players over the summer. Sacked him earlier this year, and like a desperate woman, we went back to our ex-manager Dean Keates. Rumours have it our coaching staff are part-time and so the players are only trained on a part-time basis, leading to a lack of fitness. I also think there's a massive attitude problem in some of our players, they sign the dotted line and think they've made it because it's the first time they've seen a real ground with actual fans, so get comfortably complacent.
