Anyone got one yet? I'm getting one in the spring. Was wondering how people are finding them?

I had one mate, pile of shit. Swapped it for a PS5, best thing I ever did.

Old thread, but funnily enough I'm the exact opposite, although the PS5 wasn't shite, just limited and it looks a bit shit. It was also a bit flakey in terms of reliability.

Putting aside Game Pass pissing over anything on the PS5 (£60 for every day one exclusive, it does make me laugh), one of the best things on the Series X is the emulation, and in retail mode so no hacking needed. Almost perfect 4K Playstation, Playstation 2, PSP, Wii, Gamecube and Dreamcast emulation, not to mention every other retro console through Retroarch. I particularly love the irony that Microsoft's console offers better Playstation backwards compatibility than Sony's PS5 does.

On a side note for anyone interested, Microsoft are currently selling the Series S for £190 direct from them. Not quite as powerful as the Series X, but if you're interested in emulation, it offers 10x the power of any PC you could get for that price, and definitely any of the Pi based emulators out there.

Got the Series X and a PS5 and for me PS5 is considerably better. Xbox has game pass which is good but the PS5 has something virtually identical now and has the better catalogue in all honesty. Biggest draw back for the Xbox is the lack of quality first party titles. Halo is decent and Forza is always fun but there’s pretty much nothing beyond those atm. Off the top of my head you can play Forbidden West, Miles Morales, Gran Tourismo, Demon’s Souls, Ghost of Tsushima and God of War Ragnarok.

Are you seriously trying to suggest PS Now/Plus is identical to Game Pass? Come off it. Every Microsoft game and exclusive moving forward is a day one release on Game Pass. Where as you pay £70 on PS5 on release for all the titles you mention.

As for exclusives, Sony have the upper hand right now with that (although it's not as big a difference as many make out) but just look at MS and what they're currently doing. Splashing billions on dev houses and everything eventually from the likes of Activision and Bethesda will be a Game Pass exclusive. Long term Sony are on a sticky wicket unfortunately, they simply can't compete with the financial muscle Microsoft have. And this isn't a good thing.

How many day 1 exclusives have you actually received with game pass? Certainly nothing of note in the last 2 years imo. It’s true, PS+ wont have day 1 exclusives because that isn’t really financially viable. Xbox also won’t get many games with the budget and quality of something like God of War Ragnarok for example. Just the promise of them. You can mark my words on that.

End of the day, I can look at what game pass offers right now vs. PS+ and for me PS is a lot better.

To say that's conjecture barely does it justice. Taking your word for it or not.

I guess we're looking for something different from a console. Spending the equivalent of 5 months worth of Game Pass to play a game simply because it's an exclusive to the PS5 doesn't really appeal to me.

It’s not just about exclusivity, it’s about quality too. I want the best games not the cheapest deals. Game pass has some decent options but for me the real quality has come from Sony over the last 5 years.

The quality is there on the Xbox too, so it's a moot point. And as indicated, with the power it has it can emulate so many previous generations which adds a lot of appeal for me. Something you will never see on the PS5.

As said, it's about what appeals as an individual.

Some quality yeah but not as much as there should be. Where’s the big budget titles like Sony has?

PS5 has a shit tonne of back catalogue too.

Bought the Callisto Protocol on the Series X and already regret it. Doesn't actually have ray tracing despite what's advertised and there's this weird sepia tone and mist to hide low texture areas that.

Microsoft bragged about how powerful the console was so when are they going to show it?

Then why get it on the Series X when it's also available on the PS5?

Any shortcomings will be resolved with patches. It's always the same with these release no matter what the console.

Nice to see a console argument. PC is obviously superior to both, but as a PS 4 owner and xbox game pass subscriber I have to admit for me the PS plus catalogue is better than the xbox offering.

Having said that I have a PC and bought a steam deck earlier in the year and was considering the PS 5, Xbox series X or a steam deck for my kids and went with buying another steam deck. No complaints and was a relatively easy decision.

Because I wanted something to actually play on my Series X. I wish I did buy it on PS5 now since the bugs are minimal, HDR/DolbyVision actually works and the game supports actual ray tracing.

Oh well. But another advantage of buying on the Xbox is you can further peddle your pro-PS5 agenda. ;)

It's obvious it's not a hardware issue, rather the development. It's well known that the Series X is a more powerful piece of kit, in this case the developer f***d up it would seem, perhaps concentrating more on the PS5 because it's sold better and neglecting the Xbox. But it will be rectified no doubt in the coming weeks with patches, which always annoys me.

I’m pro whatever provides the best games. No agenda here, hence why I play on Xbox, PS5, Switch and PC. I’m completely impartial. . .:whistle

I assume it probably will be patched. And I agree, it’s annoying that this trend of releasing broken games is so common but it is what it is I suppose.

Hopefully the Xbox puts its power to use soon. That’s all I’m asking for tbf.

I'm surprised the PS5 outsold the Xbox Series X to be honest. I thought with Online becoming more popular Xbox would wipe the floor with PS5.
