As the title suggests, this is a poll to see what LFC fans' opinions on their favourite season over the last 20 years. Taking into account all competitions of that season, as well as the number of memorable moments, levels of excitement at the way the team were playing, and so on.

I've picked out a few to choose from, see below:

00/01 - The season, under Houllier, where we won the League Cup on pens vs Birmingham, The FA Cup vs Arsenal with a late Owen-inspired comeback in the last 10 minutes and The UEFA Cup vs Alaves in a 5-4 golden-goal winner. Also managed to finish top three (only 3 CL places back then), which included a double over Utd, and a dramatic Gary McAliastair free-kick from 35 yards vs Everton to win 3-2 in stoppage time.

01/02 - Whilst the Cup performances this season weren't as exciting as the last, this was Liverpool's first genuine title push since the PL began. Liverpool were favourites for most of the first half of the season, but only failed at the end due to Arsenal's 13-game winning end to their season. Another double over Man Utd, though were knocked out by Leverkusen in the QFs of Liverpool's first ever CL appearance (since the format change in '92) and sold Fowler mid-season to Leeds.

04/05 - Probably one of the weakest squads on paper we've ever had in the PL years, and it showed as we finished 37 points behind the champions, Chelsea. However, in Rafa Benitez' first season in charge, we somehow won the Champions League, beating the likes of Monaco (previous years' finalists), Deportivo (previous season's semi finalists), Juventus (Serie A champions), Chelsea (PL champions) and AC Milan, who probably had one of the greatest football club squads of all time. Diabolical domestically, but "Leicester'd" Europe.

08/09 - Unlike the above, with a team including Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano, Carragher, Alonso, Kuyt and Reina all in their prime, this was probably Liverpool's strongest ever squad in the PL era. It showed in the league as we made it to 86 points, which was actually our highest ever league points total in all-time history, even though we couldn't win the league that season. We scored four goals in a single game at Stamford Bridge, and Old Trafford, whilst also doing the same at home to Arsenal and Real Madrid, though the Arsenal/Chelsea games were 4-4 and both proved vital blows to our season. A dramatic 4-4 QF knockout by Chelsea ended our Champions League hopes, where the 4-4 Arsenal draw ended our league challenge. We may not have won anything that season, but due to the fact that we were clearly genuine European heavyweights at that point and were showing that on the pitch, this has to be my personal favourite season.

13/14 - Despite people saying we relied on Suarez, he was on a 10-game ban for racism, during which we won 9 and drew 1. Rodgers had our team playing some of the best attacking football the league has ever seen, resulting in 101 goals. Suarez, Sterling, Sturridge and Coutinho were absolutely unstoppable going forward, with Henderson having his best ever season and Gerrard fully developed in his new holding role. Unfortunately, it was our problems at the back that lost us the league in the end. However, with 14 games to go, needing to win all 14 to win the league, winning 12, drawing 1 and losing 1 was a great effort, and included the type of attacking football which I'd never seen before. Suarez was bang in the middle of that attacking play bullying the smaller teams with consummate ease, but it was the likes of Sturridge, Sterling and Coutinho who'd actually be providing the cutting edge in the bigger games.

16/17 - Only a quarter of the way into the season, but I think this has been our best ever start to a season, under a manager who is known for reviving dwindling football clubs, and Liverpool have, apart from 1 season, been a dwindling club in the last 6 years. Without CL football, focus is very much on the league and, it appears, the domestic cups. Klopp's staff team are well known for their exceptional training results, which has already started paying dividends on the pitch. With a poor 2-0 defeat to Burnley, and a dodgy performance vs Swansea, it's not all perfect, but does show there is room to improve, for us to be even better. The best thing about this team is that, if you asked ten different Liverpool fans who the best current LFC was, you'd probably get about 4/5 different names. It's early days, but the signs are promising, could this be our year? I personally don't think we'll win the league, but it could be another exciting title push.

08/09 was the best side we've had in my lifetime, but 13/14 was definitely the best season.

08/09 that midfield supplying peak Torres was just awesome.

Absolutely. Amazing how this gets ignored. Also the fact that Sturridge's goals won us more points than Suarez's did.

2004/5 for me, just that whole champions league run felt charmed.

Istanbul is Istanbul. It'll always be the most special night for me (not to forget Gerrard's goal versus Olympiacos, or the atmosphere at Anfield after the Chelsea game) - but it was a league season to forget. Our most balanced side of 2009 was a great team - world class spine, with Yossi and Kuyt proving matchwinners. (Xabi-Masch pivot *fap*) In true Rafa style, back then we'd stop the other team from playing then finish them off. However, nothing can compare to the highs and lows we enjoyed (?) in 2013-14. Suárez. **** me. What a player. SAS were the best partnership in the country, Sterling was maturing every game - we literally turned over teams in the first 30 minutes, the games were won early - some of the best attacking football I've ever seen, but our defensive and tactical ineptness would sell us short.

Excellent squad depth in that era too - getting the likes of McAllister and Litmanen to join our young squad was inspired. Henchoz-Hyypia were rocks. Shame we let Anelka go.

I think I had my most fun personally watching football during 13/14, so I'd go with that even though 00/01 and 04/05 I'll always have ahead in a different way because of the outcomes.

08/09 actually is the most painful season for me to remember, even in 13/14 I never thought we had a right to be near where we got to before we got on that run, 08/09 that team was brilliant and the legit best actual XI I've ever seen us have. Silly draws cost us..

I remember almost crying with joy when Dudek saved the final penalty kick. From where we were in the first half to lift the trophy by the end, the whole game was just nerve racking, exciting, nail biting stuff. Even watching it on youtube, sends shivers down my spine.

The run up to it was just as exciting. Olympiarkos when Gerrard scoring the decisive goal, Andy Grays reaction on commentary. The goal that was and wasn't a goal that took us that step further.

Champions League made up for a poor domestic finish.

I was gutted when we let Anelka go. And to add further insult to injury, replacing him with that ****ing waste of space Diouf made it worse.

Without doubt it's the treble winning season for me, there were so many highs that season from Beating United at OT for the first time in christ knows how long( aswell as doing the double over them), Gary Mac's last minute winner at Goodison, Qualifying for the CL on the final day of the season, beating Roma and Barca in what was a very tough Uefa cup run ending with the incredible 5-4 final and Owen's late goals to win us the F.A cup outta nowhere. Truly a remarkable season.

It was also the season where Gerrard's Liverpool career really took off.

Istanbul will always be the best night of my life though.

New here, be good to speak to some reds.

My favourite season was the 00/01 seaaon. I was only 10 and despite being born in Liverpool and having scouse family around me, ive lived in Shropshire most of my life and everybody around me was a Man U fan. Was the first time we looked like a serious team and I had something to be proud of and boast about!

Some brilliant lesser cult heroes in our team at that time too - Gary Macca, Litmanen etc

    Welcome and nice name ;)

Yes, Gary McAllister and Litmanen were inspired signings.

    Markus Babbel too!
