When will Zamora be back up and running? Hodgson got the best out of him at Fulham and were it not for his injuries he would have surely cemented down an england place by now. All depends on whether there is a restriction on Hodgson poaching him or not I guess. What say you all?
Are you Fulham in disguise? Honestly wouldn't surprise me in the slightest? Hasn't Hodgson already said he'd like a striker in January? Zamora would surely jump at the chance of the 'step up' too. I use the words step up lightly as Hodgson seems determined to knock out the big team mentality Liverpool once had.
Roy Hodgson's January dream team Reina Carragher Greek fella Koncheski Johnson J.Cole Poulsen D.Murphy Gerrard Kuyt Zamora
I doubt its the sort of player Liverpool's new owners and Director of football would consider as the type of signing to improve Liverpool...but then if *Hodgson still has the final say on new players by then who knows! *More "performances" like the one against Stoke and Roy won't be in a job come January.
On the one hand Liverpool fans knock Hodgson, the next they dismiss a link with a very average striker out of hand as if Hodgson has (more) sense. Personally I think he would contemplate a move, familiarity is something we all love, be it players we always buy/look to buy when playing footy management, be it buying name brands or supermarket equivalents etc. BUT Zamora is 30 in January and I'm guessing Fulham wouldn't sell him cheap so unless the comments about suitable purchasing was just hot air I fail to see how bobby ordinary at 30 is going to be a likely move. Give Hodgson a free reign and I certainly don't doubt for a minute it is possible
Give Hodgson free reign and we'd have plenty mroe Konchesky's and Poulsen's. Why wouldn't he be in for Zamora? His Fulham team was built around him. This is what he said about Carlton Cole the other day: "Cole is a good player and was one of the players I was watching and we were looking at a lot of forwards. "He was one I watched and we talked about but we didn't make any particular move for him. "At Liverpool we are always linked with every player but I do like Carlton Cole and think he's a good player but there was no offer made for him."
I really thought as he has managed Inter Milan well through quite a tumultuous period at the time he really would have a bit more of a clue. Forget his tactics, selections and all just his press conferences scream small club mentality( No offense ).
